CET 2008 GD/PI Experinces

Hi to all,
I had my GD PI at JBIMS on 17/05 at 11.00 AM.
The over all GD was good as there were 10/12 cand. and 3 penalist.
one penalist told as not make fish market and the imp. will be given to valid point and not mere times u speak.
we had two topics 1> mngt. is doing things right and leadership is doing right things.
2> govt. must out of education and let acadamics handel it.
we chose sec. one although first one was very good to give examples.

PI:
in-out....

nothing indepth asked to me just a few Q.
1 what was the seat no. at GD and What is Ur Batch no.
2 from form i filled regarding "Manager has to be Critical thinker"
3 one spell error that i had made.
4 meaning of Liberalization/privatization/globalization.
5 regarding my father's bussiness
6 regarding my father's bussiness
7 regarding my father's bussiness
8 why to u join ur father's business
9 thank you.

PI last for hardly 7min.

some of the penalist at JB are conducting Stress interview (one of the fellow came out of other panel told me that)


For GD beprepared to fire at start and make attempt for 5-6 times with valid points they didn't asked for summarized to those who spoke less (bad) because when u dont speak make sure u summarize.

sure.
i entered the palace an hour before i.e. at 10.00 i was told to seat down in room at ground floor in no. 4. then i got forms to fill up two of the same kind (attached here under) then afetr some time at 10.57 they told me to go upstairs and then they stamped my call letter at there and took my sig. on paperwith two space to sign. GD box and PI box. i signed on GD and told to go into the room.

after 50 min. of talking we all got out and gone to second floor for PI. one was siiting on the chair the invigilator to sign ur call leter and he decides in which panel to send.

sorry for late posting

thats all and after 10 min. i got out and entire process was of 58 min only excluding the walking time.

Just be there before time... and im sure you have already seen the venue as the university lanes are very confusing....

If you have not seen the way to PUMBA... my advice, kindly go and see the way in advance to avoid any hassel on the D-day.

and just chill as the faculty out there is very relaxed and you generally get good marks in PUMBA [both for GD/PI]
Last year the highest was 17/17 for GD/PI.

So have a good time...there

GDPI takes arnd 1 hour (as was mentioned in many posts on this thread). But nobody can be sure how much time ARC verification cud take. It depends on a no of factors: Crowd at the center, no of ARC representatives, weekday/weekend and so on.

I wud advise u to fill up ur candidate profile sheet in advance, since u can save time on that count during the GDPI process.

If u r an outstation candidate, u cud request the ARC ppl to let u skip the queue (though chances are that they wont listen )

Now comes GD :

there were the panel of 3 members,2 of the age 50+ and 1 in 40-50.and total of 12 canditates in which 2 of thm were absent

they had given 2 topics and told us to select,first one i dont remember exactly but it was related to "flexibility in specialisation in Indian Education System" and second one was "Legalise the coaching classes and close down the regular college classes".we unanimously selected the second one.It was a good GD,every one had a valid points except two.It lasted for around 15-20 mins and finally one of the moderator told us to conclude.

After 5 mins ,we had a PI,it was totally on the Form Details and little bit of GK.

I was out of the Welingkar at 9.50.

Overall,GD and PI was Good.

Here goes my exp abt GDPI

Venue: SNDT, Mumbai
Time : 3:00 pm (today)

I entered the campus at arnd 2. SO had to wait for more than an hr. Filled up the form. It hardly requires 30 min.
Then at 3:30 they called for the GD.

GD:
3 panelist - 1 middle aged lady n 2 old men in their 50s

2 topics were given. 5 min given for thinkin n 15 min for discussion.

topics were:
1. Organization of college festivals enhance the all round skills of students.
2. India must have only 2 national political parties.

As expected v chose the first 1. It was a gud GD. No fish market. Came in 5-6 times. At the end even the panelist appreciated n said it was a very lively discussion.

Then v wer taken for the PI

PI:
2 panelist. Both in der 40s i guess. But both were very friendly.

Me: went in
P2: nice smiling face...
Me: thnx sir
P2: Nice specs as well...ordered yesterday??
Me: Thnx No sir i hv been wearing it since 1 yr.
P2: are u sindhi??
Me: No sir i m a jain
(They started talking between themselves n wer laughin..me too joined the party)
P1: Describe urself n tel us all tht u hv written in the form.
Me: went on n on
P2: which college u r targettin n which stream
Me: i said welingkar
(again they started talkin n laughin)
P1: ur weaknesses?
Me: told
P1: u scored less in the first yr??
Me: told the reason
P2: how much in CET? was this ur first attempt? Did u joined ne classes? DO they teach u well?
Me: told
P1 & P2: thnx. v r done
Me: thnx...shook hands...smiles all around
P1: c u in welingkar (he was a prof in welingkar)

It lasted for 12-15 min i think...
pretty cool...hope to get gud marks....

Can anyone let me know the folloiwikng 2 things!!??

1. The experience certificate needed to be submitted to SIMSREE, is it ok if it is given in a format as not given in the proforma!!??...this is bcoz my company has a standard format of giving an experience letter!!..

2. Also, The qualifying exam marksheet mentioned in the documents to be submitted to SIMSREE!...does this mean the graduation marksheet or the cet 2008 marks printout!!??

hey naps..as far as i understand from the CET brouchure it is preety clear that qualifying examination means ur graduatin marksheet..and not the CET score cards. Anyway i havent got one have u.>?? and why they will ask for that ..when the DTE has taken the exam..!!!

Hey Tanu...thnks.I went to the arc centre today to clarify,the person told me if my MAT score is better and its taken for consideration,then i will be competing from the all india seats,not for the home university seats!so wat do you think??
also any idea how is the score converted?i have got 98.21% in mat..what would be the converted score?
