One last question.........Is Weli mms better Weli PG? I am really confused......as in shud i stick to Weli PG in case (hopefully not!!) i dont make it to SIMSREE PGDBM n i get through Weli mms.......

Moi not from Welingkar and hence the wrong person to comment anything on that B-School...

You can post this on the Welingkar thread and expect quick replies out there...

And I re-iterate, you wont have to think about Welingkar; you will get into SIMSREE's PGDBM course with a state rank of 138!

Hope you do make it on Sunday for the seminar...

For the PGDBM course of our college, the state ranks are considered; and as stated on two occasions earlier, stay assured! Your admission in SIMSREE's PG course is guaranteed!!

Hi!

To be very honest, a PG & MMS have their pros & cons.....so you need to weigh them & see what will best work for you.
For example, I am in Welingkar PGDM & am not going to take up MMS even if i get it. Reasons for the same:-

1. PG is designed by the college & it gives a 360 degree experience with better relevance to the industry trends & prepares us better to tackle the corporate world. MMS is designed by DTE & is too rigid & out of date.
2. You get better industry interaction in PG than in MMS (personal view)
3. MMS is a degree whereas PG is a diploma - here's where MMS is better
4. Companies generally dont diffrentiate between a PG & MMS student. Yet there is an exception to every rule.
5. One needs to know which specialisation one wants to do & accordinglyssee if that particular college suits your choice of specialisation or not.

Little correction friend,
MMS new syllabus which we have and obviously you guys would also be having, is on par with top inst. Core subjects offered are same everywhere (as per feedback i got from friends in IIMs). Obviously electives would differ from college-to-college. Fortunately, DTE has kept scope of most of the subjects broad enough, so it boils down to what faculty opts to teach.

At Sydenham, there is absolutely no difference in the way students are treated...even during placements!
