Hi,
At this rank you dont have any chance of making into JBIMS,
For SYD p.g and Welingkar you have a marginal chance,
So you can fill up your choices as ( You can decide your own preferences, this is just for an example)
JB
SYD MMS
SYD PG
KJ
WELINGKAR
.
.
.
If at all you dont get into your first 5 choices then you have a chance in CAP round 2. In CAP II you have higher probability of making into SYD p.g. and Welingkar.

I guess its easier to decide on the top 5, but 6 onwards is quite another story since there isn't much reliable info available on the relative performance of SIES, Dalmiya, MET, Chetana so quite difficult to trust anyone's point of view as I guess ashishpatna's opinion has been influenced by the fact that he is at MET.

You are right that its easier to decide btn top 5...
From there on starts the problem ... many things then come into picture ... individual opinions do tend to vary ..
So what i would suggest is try to judge them by going through last two years cut-offs and try to get hold of some students from those coll, even thou it is bit late now.
Take ppls opinions ...but make your own decisions .......

Re: MhCET Colleges Ranking -

Hi Puys,
my CET score is 149..
state general merit no. is 1673
university general merit no. is 1376.
i may sound unrealistic when i say that i wanna fill up only JBIMS, sydenham, welingkar and somaiya in the CAP rounds coz i may not actually stand a chance in any of these wid my score and rank. but will still wanna stick to these colleges.. n if i dont get thru anywhere among these 4, i would probably try again next year.
my query is.. if i fill up all these 4 colleges in the first round, n i dont get thru anywhere in the first round, can i still put the same preferences in the second and the third round as well? or will i have to put in new preferences in every consequent round? if i will have to put new preferences only n wont be able to repeat the first four options again, how would u suggest that i fill my options? shud i just put JBIMS and sydenham in the first round, welingkar in the second n somaiya in the third so that i have new options to fill in every round? plz help me!
also.. if i dont get thru in these 4 colleges in the first round, will i still be considered automatically in these 4 colleges in the next (second) round, or will i be considered only for the new preferences that i give in the second round?
also.. 9th july 5 pm is the deadline for filling in options in CAP round 1 na?
plz help me guys.. thanks a ton!
cheers,
pooja!

Yes, you can put the same preferences in all the rounds. That solves all of the above queries

If you don't get through these four colleges, you'll still be considered for next round(s). In fact, you'll be considered for the next rounds ONLY IF you don't get into the first five preferences you've filled in the form. So, there's no harm in putting these colleges as the first five choices in the option form. In fact, in one way, it maximizes your chances of getting a better college.
