radha please dont worry ,ssn is a damn good college for mba becasue the company has some good industry interface and a dedicated placement cell,when i asked my friend who is in anna university if "ssn was good",his reply was" there are 5 good colleges under tancet and ssn is one of them.
so ,if u are ready to work hard during your course and not have any arrears during your mba ,you are guaranteed a placement.

There were three application form : -

1. annauniv, chennai
2. annauniv, cbe
3. General counselling...

At annauniv chennai, only college of engg, guidy will participate...

At annauniv cbe only http://www.annauniv.ac.in/images/colleges_list.doc. these colleges will participate...

At general counselling, All the other colleges like PSGIM( ONLY CORE MBA), TSM, SSN, ETC. will participate...

I dont know what it mean by auditor's association... !!

Hope i cleared all your doubts.

Detail abt SSN:

College got decent infrastructure, I think they are abt to make wifi campus...

As you said, it's "OK" type college... with decent faculty... lemme give u the placement scenario for 2006 batch

out of 60, 40 got placed
max 5.5 lpa
avg 3.5lpa
min 2 lpa..

I am sure that this package will increase for 2007 batch... and when u pass out in 2009, u can expect anything around 5-7 lpa...(but remember that u shd be under top 10 there)

I am sorry to say that u can not apply for the General counselling now... Since, all the procedures are over!!

If you dont have any job in your hand right now, then u can go with SSN... Its good..

Thank u ppl for ur suggestions.. u all have really given me a thorough analysis... tomo is the counselling n i still haven't decided!!! well.. let me see..
1.Money is a HUGE consideration.. though the fee details are less in anna univ, i'll have to bear with the living expenses here.. i'm planning to apply for an ed loan.. :neutral:
2.My hometown is near Coimbatore... So hostel will not be necessary i guess.
3. No hostel accommodation at AU.. must find somewhere to stay...:neutral:
4. Placement is impo.. if the competition is low and the salary package is also good, then it has to be AU..
5. I'm plannin to do the major in Finance..
6. My frens r ter at PSG n i dunno anyone out here in Chennai..
oops.. i think i'm confusing everyone out here.. :satisfie:

@srinath.. thanks for yr prompt reply..I also got a similar view thru an alumni of AU about SSN..since i hv taken CAT, CET/Mat etc, i am looking for a "good B-School" but dat is hard to come by..lemme wait for some more time for rest one/two options and then will decide..anyhow thx agn and atb for yr couselling on 25th and entry to AU campus!

do any of u have any idea on how many seats from PSG have been allotted 4 anna univ cbe counsellin and 4 general counsellin?... i don wanna miss out, jus in case!!! i've called up 2 AU cbe n asked, they told me that only seats from 3 courses in PSG comes 4 tis counsellin.. they r - Family business mgmt, Brand and some Cert or CRM... am not sure of the last one.. well these aint core courses in MBA right.. i really don understand any of tis stuff, actually.. Do help!!!

Thnx for yr detailed views on SSN..the placements of batch 2006 hv improved over the earlier batch..hence a bit comforting..their infra is good..but permanent faculty are only 9! ..i am just waiting for welingkar wtg list and once this is known, i may decide finally!
since i cud not get any good Mba colleges last year, i hv taken up a diploma course in Intl.Marketing (DU)..now the options before me is either to go for job and gain some exp before doing an mba or enter the bangwagon now to shape up a future..

Yes. Your right!

I dont have any idea abt allotment of seats from PSGIM to coimb, annauniv. But they alloted 105 seats for general counselling(core MBA).

Yes, these Family business mgmt, brand and some cert or crm and International Business are not Core MBA...!

I dont know how good are these course, but international business is good! Anyone can get into it if they didnt find a seat for core MBA at PSGIM or ANNA UNIV.

I recommend u to choose PSGIM, due to the following reason...

1. Both anna and psgim are equally good
2. Since your near to cbe, u can compensate the fees structure in living expense... So, expense will be same in your case...
3. You can enjoy your cbe climate
4. Friend, anna is good for system... I dont know how abt finance...
5. And infrastructure at PSGIM is better than anna but the competition is quite high!
