My name is Niti.. I couldn't get thru Dalmia PG.. in none of the lists..

I tried procuring Minority quota form from the college, however I need to have a domicile certificate which I'm not able to arrange. Cos I was in Bangalore for a few years in between.. and I have not lived in Mumbai for 14 years at a stretch.. (though is has been all together more than 18 years)

My score is 125/240 in CET.. Open Category.. Please guide.. will I be able to get thru in Dalmia MMS (without minority quota) or not.

My CET score is 131. can i get in MMS? wat is the difference between PG & MMS in coparison with placement, course, faculty, industry recognisation.

Finance

As u know insti is well known 4 finance n the insti has the best faculty in town..Prof Bhatia..Prof Date..Prof Gor n Off course our director Prof P.LArya...In the first yr u will b offered a course called FMI which nobody teaches in mumbai...all about capital mkts..n instruments... these days most of the students go in 4 some additional qualif..like NCFM...CFA...Mutual fun advisor certi...MCX related 2 commodities....depends on ur interest.. once u start ur course u hve loads of time 2 decide based on ur interest...............

But lemme tel ya..there is mad rush 4 finance n u will b offered finance spec in 2nd yr only on merit..this yr there r total 150 seats wit nearly 175 students intersted 2 doin finance...seats may vary every year

So u will have 2 b on ur toes from day 1...

Marketing

Well me doin my MKTG at dalmmia....the faculty is gr88..Industry stalwarts havin more than 15yrs exp...the best part is insti wil help u in gettin placed in choice of ur sector..the placemnets have bn gr88..

Wel broadly there r 2 types of jobs which u get after doin mktg..pure sales n the other mktg....If someone luvs 2 meet new people...see diifernt places.. sales is the ideal job..it is tough initially but the insights which u get r awesome...from sales u can switch 2 mktg which is more planning and execution of strategies...but to do that some sales experience is necessary..............

Many companies visit the campus ...it depends on ur interest ..which sector u want....u can enter in any field ....so don worry..once u strt ...things wil become clearer..........Hope that ans the quesn.........

HR

Wel HR placements ,faculty r pretty gud as wel wit most have of the faculty from industry..Prof Ronnie, Prof Rajan,Prof Joshi....The insti gives lot of opportunities 2 the HR guys 2 organise events and attttend industry seminars across mumbai..The placemnts wud say r gr88 wit allthe students gettin offers during their summers itself..also since the batch size is small...the opportunities r unlimited....last yr Wipro,infosys ,TCs were a few names...this yr people doin there summerz with tata steel,JSW steel,gridstone ....so all in all opportunities unlimited...

Books

wel another thing which is unique..u all wil b gettin textbks from insti..guesss u wil hve 2 make some room at ur place coz there wil loads of them 7-8 in each sem.. ..first yr wil b common pg n mms students studyin 2gether...the 2nd yr wil based on spec n mms/PG..

MMS/PG confusion

If u take a admn in PG..n get admn in MMS later ..u will get an internal transfer 2 MMS....that is not a prob.. Anywayz if u don get thru MMS...PG is the same..no difference.. studiez.. faculty.. placemnts ..all r the same...u wil not find any discrimination as in other insti
