Sad,
I c u had a horrific experience. But permit me to be the devil's advocate on some points. U repeatedly mentioned "nowhere was it written m n Indian".
Now was this not known to aspirants from the brochure that they have to provide such a certificate? It was

....and this is the case every year...since CET inception.
Why do they want u to do that-
1) Need to distinguish PIO quota
2) Need to distinguish NRI/Children of Indian workers i Gulf countries
(* source pg 9 DTE brochure)
The reason of imprtance is simple.....Indian students get seats alloted to them. How wud one feel, if an Indian seat goes to a student (supposed to be PIO)...wud u not feel cheated?
Secondly, this is a case year on year, every time this problem gets highlighted "IT NEEDS TO BE MENTIONED U AN INDIAN CITIZEN"....PG is a resource with such info by referring to past year threads. Why not put this to use in advance? Such certificates cud have been arranged 2-3 months back to avoid hara kiri in the end and shaking up ur entire household
DTE is a government body, which prefers to have a "highly stringent" (sometimes atrocious) admission process....which spans ELIGIBILITY to ENTRANCE to ALLOTMENT---> any discrepancy in any stage leads to an earthshakingly inconvenient experience to an aspirant.
Its gud u wanna blog ur experience, but plz do also blog -
1) List of documents required
2) What such documents shud necessarily mention
CET is done once a year.....it opens u 2 brilliant B-schools in Maharashtra, if one desires a seat, its highly essential that one is well prepared for the process....after all, one is doing an MBA, where the level of patience, preparedness and self responsibilty is highly critical.
No offence, but there will always be 2 sides to a coin.....raising an alarm shud lead to better changes next year. No offence...All the best
