| CET GDPI and Scores -
25-02-2007, 11:46 AM
Hi All,
Thought of starting a new thread purely discussing about the CET scores and GDPI preparation tips. We could also discuss the CAP rounds and the options to be filled in the form.
Now that CET is over, the focus would be on GDPI. As I was among the panelist last year, I will try and throw some light on the GDPI process. Also I am conducing a workshop for GDPI for those interested. The first session would be introductory session and would throw light on GDPI for CET in particular. As the first session is free of cost, recommended to attend the same. Anyone interested can contact me. It will be held on 28th Feb in Thane and 1st March in Dadar.

Usually the average marks scored in GD and PI is around 8 or 9 each, but to get into good colleges and make a difference should target a score of atleast 26+/34.
REmember CET GDPI is different from other college GDPI, as in other colleges the faculties eveluating u do check whether you are suitable for their college. But in CET the faculty evaluating u is more focussed on giving u marks out of 17.
Also they have set formats on which u have to be evaluated with each criteria carrying certain amount of marks. | | | | | The Following 3 Users Say Thank You to quoinacademy For This Useful Post:

One thing that is strikingly different this time is the CAP rounds. Remember that if u get admission to one of the top colleges of ur choice in one round u will not be eligible for further CAP rounds. So it is very important that u fill the forms of CAP rounds. IF u have scored good marks and get and admission in SIES in the first CAP round (assuming it is ur top 5 choice) then u will not be eligible for other collges in the next CAP round. In that case the student scoring less than u but did not get admission in his top 5 choices would be eligible for colleges above SIES such as Sydenham, Somaiya and Welingkar.
This will pose a great challenge this time as to how to fill the forms for CAP rounds. | | | | | The Following 5 Users Say Thank You to quoinacademy For This Useful Post:

Hi All,
As per what I have talked to people, the paper was not too tough, but yes compared to last year it was on the tougher side. The paper had a mixture of easy and tough questions. All the paper had questions different from normal format. Due to this the marks scored would be less than last time. Last year a student with 139 scraped through Bajaj, with a 142 score having a outside chance for Bajaj. This year the scores are going to drop. So I predict a score of around 135 in written test as an outside chance for Bajaj. For others such as Sydenham, Somaiya, Welingkar, .. score required would be further down as there will be a lot of cancellation. Based on last year, a score of around 120 should give a outside chance for Somaiya. (Last year JB closed at 177 and Somaiya after cancellation rounds closed at below 160).

Well the strategy for filling the options in in CAP rounds will depend on your marks. If you have scored very high (i.e. sure shot JB) or very low (not getting into top 5 colleges as per ur option) then there is no issue. The problem will come for those who believe they have a chance in 2nd to 5th colleges in subsecuent cancellations. So cant give a general strategy for everyone. Depends on your rank. But yes be clear as to what u want and fill accordingly. If your rank is 50-700 or so, I would not recommend you to fill all the top 5 options. Fill in JB, (Syd, Som, Wel) (depends on which order u prefer). Maybe PUMBA if ur keen. But how many options to fill will depend on your rank between 50-700. | | | | | The Following User Says NO Thank You to quoinacademy For This Un-useful Post:
