PUMBA is an University Department and in case of any university (specially in India) the reputation and real growth of the University and hence its its departments (in terms of quality of infrastructure to patronage by the govt., UGC etc to over all motivation of the faculty and students) directly depends on the vision and standing of the VC and also the growth of the Deptt. is greatly (though not solely) dependent on the Dean at any point of time. Fortunately for PUMBA, the PU had one of the most efficient and forwardlooking VC (prof. Kolaskar) for last 3 years who is well known for his achievments elsewhere too. (It does not mean the others were less but it is just a matter of focus and priorities as well as the capacity to get 'things done' by any particular person).
It is sincerely hoped that now that PUMBA is developing and grwoing fast, it is able to maintain the tempo and match the expectations. From various feedbacks it seems it will go higher in ranking (unless lethargy sets in like the typical state universities are famous for).
