thanks
RS,
Cracking GD PI at PUMBA is no rocket science. with 3 yrs
grad
, I assume ur bio and chem concepts will be clear...u r attending MBA BT gdpi ! Not MSc entrance exam ? A basic awareness of the current biotechnology scenario in India is needed. Read Biospectrum properly..it's more than enough.if U've good ATMA score ( >98-99%), ur gdpi score becomes irrelevant as it carries only 40 marks. Still, good communication skills is all that matters for GDPI.

Atul..
The score printed on ur atma score sheet is taken as it is and to it gdpi marks are accrued and final score is calculated. For rest of ur query, refer to my earlier post(s)!

hi guys, made it to the GD and PI to be held on 31st of May at PUMBA.
BEST OF LUCK to all the aspirants. The brochure mentions to submit attested xerox copies of relevant documents. Do we have to get them attested by a gazetted officer or by ourselves.

You need to get them attested by a gazetted officer.....All the best for the GDPI. Keep cool and don't let the GD look like fish market. Speak to each other before GD starts....and keep encouraging each other....

Points To Remember for GDPI

- The 1st and most crucial thing for a successful GD is to be able to express your thoughts with clarity and seamlessly before the Panel and friends. To be able to do this, you shld share a certain degree of comfortableness with your batch mates. So, have a informal chat with each other before the GD, this will ease your nerves and you feel comfortable speaking to each other in GD.

- GD is group discussion and not debate, here you shld be able to reach a consensus or a conclusion about a given topic. It doesn't mean all have to agree to a single solution. All of you can agree to disagree with each other. But, you shld never try to force others to support you. Every one of you must put their views and then try to support your view point with examples. Don't ever try to dominate or criticize others views. You will lose marks for that.

- Don't turn the GD into a fish market, by showing how loud you can shout and make a mess of every thing.

- In a PI, being honest wins you marks. Be prepared with instant answers for expected ques. like Why MBA BT? career goals? Favorite specialization? Even panel knows that you are trying to be nice and give popular and political correct answers. Just don't over do things. Be precise and short in your replies.

P.S. By now, all must have got their admit cards. If there is any
query, call the office or ask me in this forum.

ALL THE BEST...........................I wish you see all in the campus.....

Hi Shilpa,
Its good to see you plan long term....to become a faculty in a B School, u need a MBA + Phd, profound knowledge, teaching skills and industrial experience. So, Chill, MBA BT is just a addition and not a hindrance to be a Prof.
regd the ATMA %... plz refer my posts, I can't be more clear than that....
Quote:
Honestly there is nothing like hard and fast rule to predict cut off. U must appreciate that ATMA is all India test and is accepted by many B schools. If U happened to score 99 % and they are more than 50 students who scored more than 99% and coin dentally all these 50 apply to PUMBA BT. Then even a score of 99% can be a tough score to squeeze with, into PUMBA unless and until you have a reservation to back it as there are just 30 seats in open category. But, If none of these 50 apply to this, then ur entry is a certainty.
Bear one thing in mind that you must come to GDPI well prepared. When I say well prepared, I mean guessing most probable questions and coming with ready made answers. Rest of things like cut offs are just speculations.
Regd the pay....though Highest was around 5 lacs pa (only 1 student). mean and median is 2.6-3.2 lacs pa. Salaries are not as high as MBA general....

I dont know wht OMS means?

I am very confident having done your GDPI decently, you shld be in the MBA BT for sure. SO, be prepared to pay the fees.
