I too am a student of SIESCOMS, First year MMS. Along with Raheel I too would be glad to assist you all with your queries. There is a boom in the economy and placements have never looked so good. So If you're serious about making it to a good B-School and want to make that big leap into the corporate world, its time to buckle up and prepare yourself to crack those entrance tests.
SIESCOMS, being a relatively new entrant (1995), has been able to place itlself among the top 5 B-Schools featuring under the Common Entrance Test. Now it is pretty evident that we do not advertise and we prefer to let our placements and Institute speak for itself. How do we do this ?
By churning out better managers each year, we have been able to reaffirm the belief of the Corporates in us, who come back for the Executive Placements year after year with bigger packages and more importantly, better profiles.
So walk into our institute, check out our state of the art library, visit our new hi-tech gymnasium and talk to our students.

The group interview is wherein all 12 or 10 of you will sit in an arrangement just like a GD and the panelists will ask you questions directly ie to every person and only he is supposed to answer it.... these questions are random.....They will see the way you answer and they way you defend ur point in case someone contradicts......remember this is not a GD and hence make sure you do not intervene or Contradict unless you are told to....

Hi Ashwin,

Gr8 enthusiasm by all u guys. Just somethings that are a lil confusing. See in CET everyone knows which are the TOP 5 colleges- JB, PUMBA, Sydenham, Well n KJ.

Apart frm tht Chetna is highly preferred in recent years and then follows MET. SIES as of now has been somewhere in between Chetna n MET...on n off. How do u consider urself as 5th when u still have a long way to go? Who did u displace to become 5th and by what achievements? Plz do not cite magazine rankings as a criteria coz major b-schools in CET sometimes dun even feature in rankings (including JB PUMBA n Sydenham). Apart from that I heard a quote on international plcmnst...thts news, can we have some details on which International companies hit ur campus and at what package n profile?
Ur info will be of gr8 help but plz justify whatever u say.

hi everyone...

its good to see this tread started by raheel... good work dude...

i am an mms student of siescoms and part of the placement committee. well raheel is doing a good job in clearing all doubts. 1 thing i can cofirm is the salary figures quoted here... this year there has been a good jump in the placements of siescoms. also we have crossed the 10lac figure this year.... to be precise 10.2 lacs from an IT firm (more disclosures on a later date). our average is 5 lacs.

siescoms as mentioned by ashwin is not into advertising itself. but it has a grt name in the corpaorate world. this is something all of us have realised coming here. placements have been good with better profiles being offered to students year on year.

well, most of it, raheel has covered very well....

as u rightly mentioned no point discussing different rankings... the fortunate/unfortunate part of b-school education now is tht everything depends on placement.

what u need to understand dude that as of yet not all colleges have come out with their placement figures. even siescoms will not disclose all figures rite away. u gotta wait for it. our placements i can assure you have been amazing this year. i have quoted the highest and average in my earlier post. once the placement season ends i am sure u will have figures from everywhere to compare...

2 International placements 'have' taken place. i cannot disclose more details (package profile) u gotta wait dude.

the ranking tht u r talking abt between met, chetna, welingkars etc.... its personal view. siescoms is not into advertising itself. thats why sometimes information may not be really forthcoming to students (it wasnt for us)... thts why this forum.

apart from comparisons siescoms is coming up in an extremely good way... tht the numbers show.
