Re: SIESCOMS Aspirants - 01-04-2008, 11:12 PM

i hope i am not soundin too pesimistic.. but then this is wats the trend i have observed...

* The number of ppl who reply to the PG threads are just a third or a fourth of the whole junta..

* But then on a more positive note.. the ppl above 135 wont be looking out for placements in SIES..

* Also knowing southies n their track record in competitve exams i guess there will be atleast a hundred ppl above my score of 114..

* I also have been through a similar process before of course for the BMS course in Mum Univ.. n the score i got there was much similar in terms of percentileto wat i have got now n believe me there were a lot more ppl than the number i have mention in the above bullet!! But then again goin back to bullet 2.. the number of seats filled by the coll in the minority quota was pathetic in terms of good ranking students taking up minority seats

So wats the point i want to prove by writin all this bull crap...

the trend suggests tht any1 above 95%ile stands a good chance.. n ppl are choosy about the coll they want to pick... so there is always an outside chance...

n the GD/PI process is pretty random... so it all comes down to the wire, so ppl dont loose hope..

Where there is a way.. we will weave through it!!!!

HOPE THIS POST IS NOT TOO ARBIT!!!!

Also can anyone clarify wat happens to seats of students who take up a minority seat n give it up later for a better seat/option??? Can seniors help???

Hey dude
the results for PG programme shall be available not before 20th Apr 08.
As far as CET is concerned, the minority forms should be out by 15th of this month (keep checking the websites).
I am not in a position to comment about your percentile but can tell ya that last yr the cut off for open category was 140 and minority was 125.
All d best.
Cheers

hey

i am Lakshmi from SIESCOMS MMS....de exact cut off last yr for minorty was 135...dat was de second list...while for General category after CAP Round 3 it was 152....
for 135 u will need around 97%ile + while for 152 u will need 98.5%ile....

if ne1 opts out of a minority seat after selection it will go to de next best canditate...that is with the highest score....

i got thru the minority quota seat n had 97.85 % ile in CET.......but din get thru in general category.....

The profiles for fin students in last batch have been corp finance, equity research , global consulting etc...
ATB n more questions welcome

That confuses us more.....assuming we get 28-30 in gd/pi and most pgs here would be in the range of 145-147 who represent small proportion of south indians......but considering the no of people giving cet, our scores would be in 94 to 95% tile.....and according to ur list we need 96 to 97%tile to get through minority quota.....that makes me wonder do i have a chance to apply though this quota????and will the cutoff really increase more that 10 fom last year????

laxmi/roshini and others plz add ur comments
