Glad to know you got a call from ITM... could you please elaborate on your profile a little more (Marks in 10th, 12th, CAT score, etc)...
As far as GD is concerned, prepare on some words that do not qualify as 'too much jargon', keep it short and simple basically; Keep abreast with the latest topics in News (both financial and non financial - Read papers for that), Try first mover's advantage (basically try and start and lead the discussion - don't try and rule over it though ); And always end up talking, more people have ideas but don't speak them out at GD's...
All The Best to you...
p.s. Still the question persists...where are the ITM Seniors??? As Above So Below-

Here is my take on how to prepare for a GD:
My opinion is that in a GD is that there are always going to be some people who talk and most of the group only keeps quite or adds irrelevant points... now the concept is pretty simple, if u ask me you always need to be among the first 3 speakers, here are my reasons:
a. The fact that the more the people talk the lesser your visibility
b. The more the people talk the more your gd points get stolen
c. It also shows up the fact that you are unwilling to take a leadership position (even though you may be a very good leader)
I am sure you would have no problems in case you would be speaking to a group of friends whom you know, or a topic which you are comfortable with... in this case the first is not possible (all people are busy fighting for the same seat) and the second is something which you can decide only once you sit at the GD...
How do you take care of the first problem?
a. Start by feeling that you are not in a group of people fighting to take a seat but a bunch of people trying to solve a particular problem. Do not have preconceived notions that the others are better, remember they are just as scared as you... even if they don't show it...
b. If you are well read on the topic that comes nothing like it... at the end of the day you should be able to add value to the discussion...thats right... add value, not noise... so every time you hear someone shout or show overconfidence in the GD tell yourself this person is adding noise to the GD, not value... this will calm you down a lot...
In the end believe in yourself, believe that you have points that will make the difference, believe that you have it in you... look into the mirror a few times a day and say that... I am sure you will have a great GD... As Above So Below-
