Dude 70 %ile is not a bad ptile as far as Navi Mum is concerned.....u will b called...and then as you said it all depends on how u perform.But below 70,i dont think there is too much of chance for ITM Navi Mum......So there you go...that...."Good score in CAT is a must for Navi Mum"....and "good" in this case is anything above 70 %ile

GD/PI date : 25th March
time : 9 a.m.
venue : ITM navi mumbai

I reached the campus at 7.30 a.m.. wandered around a bit .. hardly saw ny GD/PI ppl ard .. guess i was the 1st one to reach there! caught hold of a senior n asked her abt the gdpi .. she directed me to the auditorium.. i went to the auditorium where this guy was just puttin on the lights, fans n setting the projector n stuff..in abt 20 mins some more students showed up.. we chatted a bit n exchanged a few laughs.. after sumtym we were given a form (1 page) to fill .. it had some Qs like newspapers frequently read(i wrote times n mumbai mirror),business news channels frequently watched..(i left this blank) and backlogs in graduation degree and the % etc.. the Qs were very straightforward.. with this form we had to submit the undertaking(wich they had e-mailed us with the call letter) and the DD(write the info reqd on the back side).. the earlier you give submit these the earlier will be your gdpi(atleast that's wat they said)..
Then there was a presentation on the college given by a lady.. then two senior professors(i guess) gave their part of the speech 1 by 1.. frankly speaking the speeches got a lil too boring as they were very long.. The lady then announced a group of ard 12 ppl(i was there in it) to go 4 the gdpi.. we were taken to a separate room by 2 ladies..


GD TOPIC - it was something like " The internet doesn't restrict itself to just science and technology"

RULES - first 2 mins to think over the topic and write down the points in bullet form n paragraph wise on the paper provided by them..
next 15 mins for the discussion..
It was an okay sort of gd.. became a fish-market quite a few times.. on many occasions ther wer more than 2 ppl talking.. we started out with what is internet and ended up with Pros n Cons of it.. sum ppl had a different perspective on the topic.. i made ard 2-3 points in intervals n spoke a few tyms in between just for d sake of talking.. well .. all in all i wud say it was n ok gd 4 me..



Now we went back to the auditorium.. again sat there chatted some more.. i took a nap in between as well.. After sometym my gd group was called for the PI.. we were taken to the 1st floor now, where the panelists were sittin in a room.. we sat outside in order, and after ard 10 mins the PI began.. I was 2nd in line Well here is how my PI went.. i'll try n cover all the Qs they asked me..

PI - 3 panelists.. 1 old guy (O) 1 lady (L) 1 silent guy (S)
L- so xyz tell us something abt urself..?
Me- told
L- show me ur CAT admit card..
Me- I give it to her..
L- Ok .. (she gives it back) Why do you want to do n MBA?
Me- told..
O- why dnt u expand ur father's business rightaway? u dnt need an MBA for that..
Me- I do need to learn 1st.. need xperience n xposure etc b4 joinin business.. (seems a lil convinced)
O- ok xyz so what were ur favourite subjects in mech engg?
Me- BPR, SCM, ERP ..
O- what is BPR? Diff b/w BPR and BPO?
Me- told
O- heard of ERP? what is it?
Me- gave a definition n sum general talk..
O- You dont have a 1st class in your engg degree? why is that..?
Me- gave some valid reasons.. (he said okay)
O- I shud let u knw that companies ask for 60% throughout..
Me- (no answer)
O- okay.. so what are your hobbies?
Me- told
O-(a question on the hobby)
Me- told
O- (looking at my low quant score) Are u fond of maths..?
Me- No sir, but i manage..
O- okay then tell me how to calculate the area of a circle n its circumference?
Me- (thinking what a funny Q) i answer..

S- tell me wat do u knw abt cost accounting?
Me- !!
S- u have done it in ur engg.. haven't you?
Me - I am like no sir.. just heard of it ..
S- (taking a bisleri bottle in his hand) Tell me how to do the cost accounting of this bottle?
Me- !! I blabber something abt plastic , raw material and then he cuts me
S- You don't know anything abot wat u hav studied!
Me- (by this tym i was pretty sure wat he was tryn to do.. put me under a lot of stress.. so i tried n remained calm.. n smiled back at him, reasoning that that isn't true)
S- How do u propose to expand ur father's business when you don't have a liking for finance??
Me- Sir that is where an MBA will immensely help me..
O- do u hav a 2nd preference as competition for navi mumbai is tough?
Me- not exactly sir.. I want to do operations, n it is offered nly in navi mumbai..
L- Ok xyz, thank you .. you may leave..

That's all folks.. Had a good time at the campus.. they even gave us lunch coupons.. food was good.. all the best to all the aspirans..!
remember that a low score DOES NOT mean that u can't get navi mumbai campus..! Give your best shot in the GD/PI n that should do it.. cheers!

dude kingpin did u get selected......and also tell us....howz da college atmosphere and the infrastructure......r der any games played in da campus.....table tennis...basketball etc....does da college hav da sophisticated look of an MBA college.....did u lyk it......but first let us knw whether u got selected....

..i had a friend on da same date may be she was in different group.....she got selected....she had a topic on women empowerment or somethin lyk dat...

I found the college infrastructure okay.. i was xpectin sumthn else, mabbe that's y.. its location is very nice.. clean and wide roads with a lot of greenery and mountains around.. about the extra curriculars i realy dnt have n idea.. bt i think every college has that, so i dint bother.. it does look like n mba college.. dnt knw abt sophistication.. overall i like the college as it has a good reputation in mumbai i feel..
