hi Saraah..I think u shud just start off by giving CAT 2006 first. that will prepare u for cet basics automatically. Even if u r targetting CET 2007, I wud suggest that u atleast give an attempt at CAT 2006. next you dont have a particular book for CET prep... u will have to keep on solving many papers ...that will be the best practice...I wud suggest u to take a CET mock and then decide where u r lacking! Now when u have known that , then u can plan and work on u r weak points...the feedback is the most important thing!...try targeting a score of 160+ in written. Once u have got that score u are through. Any other query is welcome. Bye

Placements have never been a problem at SIMSR.
Until last year we didnt had a seperate placement week for laterals but people with work ex were placed higher than the freshers depending upon the background and the filed of specialisation and their performance.
From this year we at SIMSR are going to have a seperate placement week for laterals ie for people having work ex of more than 22 months.And the min sal slab will be 6 lacs.They will be placed in the month of DEC in the 2nd year. U can check it out on the SIMSR website too.

So dont worry abt laterals.

I am Chintan Parmar I have just completed B.E Computer Engg. from Mumbai University with 69.2% in B.E and first class throughout engg. I want information on following questions please:
1) What was the cut off for MMS KJ Somaiya last year. Please specify out of 240. What was cut off for Gujju quota.

2) I am Gujarati How can I apply for MMS Gujju quota at Somaiya. I mean to say what additional certificate is required to prove that i am Gujarati.

3) What is the annual fees for MMS? Is it same for gujju quota?

4) I am interested in doing MMS in Finance. How are placements for Finance at Somaiya for a Fresher and Computer Engineer.

5) Can I get pervious years CET paper please.

I am looking forward to get answers to these questions soon. Soory for asking too many questions.

1)This years cutoff was 152/240(for open catagory students) and 151 or 152 not sure/240( for gujjus)
2) The additional cert u want is "vasti patrik" u need to chk simsr.somaiya.edu aftr takin cet for details.
3)the annual fees this year were 1 lakhs roughly. its same for gujjus and others.
4)The placements are awesome, may it be finance or mrktn or hr or sys or operations.
5)cet papers are taken away by supervisors(unlike cat papers which are given to studnts) so u cant get the actual cet papers newhere. hwever u may get simulated or mock cet papers if u join careerforum, time ims etc.

Various programs are offered by the institute apart frm MMS, PGDBA and PGDIB. But most of the othr programs u talkin about like MMM MFM MHM are part time ones which don offer placements. ( bein part time ones)

hey, im a fresher...no wrk ex........u sure the cut off for cat ws....89%????? .....i mean its too high for insti like kj.......whr colls lik TAPMI hd a cut off of about 85%tile.......also how r the sals lik for freshers.....if u exclude ctc....

Today i visited KJ Somaiya and Welingkar. I was very much impressed by the infrastructure of welingkar. KJ somaiya is undergoing construction. The website says that KJ somaiya has avg sal of 5.57L last batch while Welingkar had 3.6L. Looking at campus i decided to go for welingkar and somaiya sucks as compared to welingkar as far as infrastructure is concerned. But avg sal appeals me to take admission in KJ Somaiya PGDBM. Also fees for KJ Somaiya is 1.1L p.a while for welingkar its 1.75L p.a. I hope infrastructure of KJ Somaiya gets better. Can anyone tell me if the average sal mentioned on website is true or not. Also is that avg sal for PGDBM or MMS.
