Hi everyone !! I and a few (3-4) others had been to xaviers today. Met a few current students and the director. Met the director and he seemed to be quite intimidating but a current student told me he's a cool chap usually. I can see ananta online probably she could throw some more details in. But my suggestion to the people seeking admission to xaviers would be to visit the college first to ensure they have all required docs in place. We need to buy a form from the college for Rs 500/- and fill in a couple more docs as well. Rest of it in subsequent posts. I will love the light for it shows me the way,

1.6 is in one stroke for First year. For 2nd year it's in 3 seperateDDs.
But that's not all, they need 7 attested copies of your 10th ,12th, grad marksheet , degree certificate. Then leaving certificate , physical fitness certificate , GAP certificate on rs 50 stamp paper (the format for these you get only on purchasing the form for 500). An undertaking o a stamp paper of rs 20. All this with the fees in 3 days including today. If you are an oms the migration cert and stuff like that.
Yes Ananta he's acad minded and all what he said is fine. But what i want to ask is how much of emphasis does he give to previous accads (like 10th , 12th , Grad exams) during certain selections like mebbe summers or anything on the lines. And i heard about the problems the finance guys faced for summers. But no idea on the HR scenario. Since you are into HR can you tell how was it during summers and how was your summers etc.
Also no systems or operations unless 6 people are willing to go for it, thats what he told me. I will love the light for it shows me the way,

Well he expects the amount in 2 days but there was 1 guy who went and spoke to him and told him that he'll pay some amount now and the rest later.
I think the director extended the date for that guy but asked him to write a letter or something in the office. But he was from delhi so mebbe he got some leeway. Dunno if it's the same for everyone. You have to ask him that in person. I will love the light for it shows me the way,

Well our college gives speacial classes for finance people according to industry demand..its not tht finance people faced difficulties as sort..but generally u cant get hardcore finance profile during summers(their profile explanantions only finance people can explain...some got profile like treasury too)..It happens the same everywhere...
Ya thats rite no systems and operations if not 6 people...thts wat our director says.. If I cling to the past, the present becomes difficult and the future seems impossible Quitters never win and winners never quit | | | | | | | |

Well had to ask if the college depends totally on visiting faculty. From what i saw today i know for sure there are very few permanent faculty. Also XLRI visiting would be predominantly for HR.. correct me if i am wrong.
(For eg today marketing didn't have much to do.... no classes) Also the directoer was busy with us all. Does this happen frequently ?
My only apprehension was if the stated details such as 90 hrs / week was indeed being followed because if that is the case (which i now know is) then xaviers would be a better bet than chetanas, met , dalmiya (execpt finance) and possibly on par or even above sies.
Guess all we need is decent placements in december and i believe this institution has what it takes. I will love the light for it shows me the way,
