hi,
i was alloted XAVIER in the first round, score 146, state rank 674, didnt confirmed the admsn. congrats to all who secured admsn and confirmed it!
personally speaking 1.6 is a bit too high, and at my score i am trying into PUMBA...
just one doubt...why to opt a new college if u have the chance to join some better institute?
BTW personally i think that XAVIER should be in TOP-5 within 3-4 years no doubt abt that, i would definately prefer XAVIER above MET, CHETNA or even SIES in the second rounds too!
just trying my luck for PUMBA (me be SYD too,a bit ambitous na)...
good luck to all XAVIERs.... | | | | | | | |

thanks | Hi deepa,
Well with Vishal and Zohaib not confirming their admissions i guess two seats are at least vacant for round 2.
I did not even put ies in my option form.
So you know what my opinion is.
BTW do you think xaviers will let finance be an issue for long.
Even they might be trying to make the best out of what's available to them.
Like i said earlier it's finally your call. I will love the light for it shows me the way,

I guess you will know only after you apply for the second round. Xaviers will definately be a better choice over IES..

The management quota students pay the same amount as normal cap students. So it's probably a balancing act there.
There are other reasons as well like 3 extra subjects offered in every semester which does not exist in other institutes.
If you are seeking an admission then you need to know the fee details else why should it broadcasted to everyone ? Guess the office people were in their rights to ask you your details !! It was the same for everyone.
No offense meant, but i think we should stop comparing colleges merely on fee structures.

New college is a risk i'm willing to take, i feel there isn't too much of a risk involved here anyways.
Today i met another guy who has preferred xaviers mms over wellingkar's pgdbm though he has 2 years work-ex in M&M.
I myself have 2 years work-ex in TCS.
Course fees is highest and the course is rigorous with 13 subjects in each sem compared to 10 of other colleges.
Cannot comment on placements as you woulds have to wait another few months for honest details.
BTW the cut-offs for management quota(12 seats) is 97 percentile in CAT or XAT.
So assess the situation yourself. | hi prashant
as u r sayin u ahve a workex and all is gr8 and being sceptical abt xaviers is bez its new in field of mms
and u have a workex so tat wont have a problem wid durin placements ......it seems
but considerin d case of freshers and d kind of profile a finace guy wud get der ...i posted tat previously .....bez i had a talk there at xaviers and they told they have no linkage wid XLRI wrt 2 placement seen and XLRI play no role .....anyways so u goin 4 it
all d best ....... | | | | | | | |

Hi RahulVyas,
If it is finance that you are looking for than, It makes sense going to dalmiya. You are right that XLRI management is not involved with the day to day activities of Xaviers institute in Bombay, however according to what I have heard, it is part of XIM-B...By the way FYI all Xavier's institutes are controlled by the same management, that includes XLRI,Loyola,XIMB,XIMR, and over a hundred colleges worldwide...
