1. PUMBA 36yrs. old instt. that makes excellent alumni
base.
2. it provides degree of mba since starting, wehre SIBM
b'came uni. b4 couple of yrs.
3. Fee of symbi is 5 times more then PUMBA. that states
that return on investment is far higher in pumba then
symbi. ur cash in hand remains half after passing out frm
symbi and after repayment of loan, symbi'ite will find
himself equelent with pumba guy. and meanwhile pumba
get far more cash in hand then a symbi guy.
4. most imp. if sm1 have money and can pay a healthy
amount of cash can make it through ny isntt. of symbi
but not in pumba, can get admission in symbi.
5. PUMBA is low prof. instt. tht doesn't mean it's a bad instt.
where we all r concern highly adv. and marketing done
by symbi. even no. of applications r almost same at both
instt. when PUMBA don't roam around county to sell it's
aplication forms like symbi....
so give thought to various aspects before comparing two colleges.
*Rahul* | Dear Rahul
I never intended to say that PUMBA is bad... My concern is that.. Every B school has its own system and choice of position.. When we talk of Pumba.. the kind of students who go there.. the kind of sectors they chose to work.. the kind of profiles they are offered are much different than others.. I am asking for an objectivity.. for past 1 yr i have remained off the posts because i see lot of people like acadfunda and franky and shanx active from pune.. bt yes i wld look at the fact that we have avoided any comparison nd thats what my concern is..
Regards
Divyendu
(PS: Dear acad.. Prof Pillai's background is well known to us.. But fortunately or unfortunately he is a thing o past for us.. we have moved much above his time period and crossed miles.. The values of insti and the vision mission has taken a new direction.. And yes.. lots of PUMBA faculty have given us so much of knowledge that we can only be indebted to them) No fights.. Very bad!!! But if fight.. WIN! | | | | | The Following 2 Users Say NO Thank You to divys For This Un-useful Post:

They get these kinda offers and these companies r not bad one i think.
and if u don't hv faith on d work of PUMBA guyz then y u left PaGaLGuY and relied upon pumba guyz like acadfunda and dapulsur....??? here "Working for PaGaLGuY" is there choice(that is good one).. not urs.(can't say gud one) MBA= Bheed me akela

agreed...its not an isbm thread..agreed..but honestly if u ppl see there are varied opinions about it...a person CANNOT make out..one post says ppl gettin 8 lacs and 5 lacs in delhi campus wich is a realtively newer campus..a post says if u r takin kolkata campus advertising and marketing is good...u guys have been there done that or at least possess knowledge wich i dont..so i am pestering u to be a bit more clear..i dont think ki a person gettina 8 lacs package can cum from a okie institute..see my thing i m gettin kolkata campus .the differences are varied as mentioned in the website..while pune campus allows specialisation in finance,marketing,hr,systems...kolkata campus has specialisations in sales and marketing, retailing, financial services and insurance and risk management.again pune campus has 10 weeks internship and other campuses have 6 months internship..i doono if it will make a difference but i m just pointing out what i got from the site.. and another post says ki the average salary last year was 3.5 and highest 5.5(PUNE 2006 data)..i m not a very clever man...or may b i m not so intelligent that i can learn to make one opinion from so many data..still i believe acadfunda and r4therehave come up wid the most reliable data i can depend upon...also pranav..his reply has sort of forced me to think about isb&m..

Hi Avi,
Chill dost....maybe due to sum miscommunication or misunderstanding, lets not loose the tempo of this effort. I totally understand ur confusion...as I have spentr good time in the period u r goin thru
Mate, I will try to explain once more what exactly is the advice.-
1) ISBM Pune is a decent enough college for Marketing and Operations (Definitely not FINANCE). It has many companies visiting its campus and with almost equal packages and profiles for similar profile b-schools frm Pune.
2) ISBM Kolkatta is gud for advertising and Mktg.
3) ISBM DElhi---no idea
My colleague frm ISBM Pune 2006 batch of operations n SCM has advised to go ONLY for ISBM PUne and NOT for ISBM Kolkatta n DElhi campus....his premises of this decision mkin is based on his 2 year stint wid ISBM Pune. So the advice does count.
My personal advise was that since u are very young (as I can see frm ur profile)...u can always try another shot to CAT for da IIMs and other affiliated schools, to SNAP for the better institutes in Symbiosis, to CET for the Top 5.....I mean it wud just mean a span of 12 months for a better life right.
Thats it. No further comments..All the best dude....

hey avi.. sry if i depressed u... but my concern is tht we just can show u d way, it's u who'll hv to walk on tht road... nw u've whole data... if u've studied statestic then use decision making table, just analyse it and come on a decision and even if u don't know abt ds table then ur mind cn provide u best statestics methods, i also told u d realityof d b-schools tht r equelent to ISB&M, u'll hv to work hard over there...
I told u abt d placement of two delhi guyz.... ISB&M's delhi & kolkata campus r picking up d growth, and i think till 2009(when u'll pass out) it's gonna b'cm far better then 2006... ds yr. it was 1st real batch of Del. and it provided gud placement.. C'mon yaar.. now when u've info. just analyse it, no one else take ur decisions, b'coz u'r d only person who's better aware of ur own strengths and weakneses then ny1 else....
