another month gone - 30-09-2005, 10:08 AM

hello ppl,
hi guys v r 2 months in2 the b school and the real struggle has started. initially the struggle was just the tip of the iceberg(thts wat our seniors tell us). in the last month v hav had all our committees in place, as i mentioned earlier jbims is a place run entirely by the students and the various committees tht r a part of this college.
as usual v hav lectures frm morning to evening 7 days a week but what has happened in the past month is tht v hav had a lots of guest lectures.
it started with mr. ajay piramal of nicholas piramal (hes a jb alumni) who gave us an induction lecture to develop our perspective on business and general management.
then v hav had a series of career oriented lectures frm careers in banking to advertising to marketing.
v even had an exclusive lecture given by hll on project shakti (for those who dont know it is the corporate social responsibility initiative of hll), it was very informative.
in the coming weeks there a host of guest lectures lined up.
will write abt them as and wen they happen.
ciao guys,
shivam

I am a IT professional and would be having 2 yrs of experience in JuLy 2006.
I plan to take up MBA from JB

I would like to know whether it would be wise enough to do mba from bajaj after 2 yrs or better to go for iims.

Also in jb..whether any mentorship programme or enterpreneur incubation cell exists..?

I have also heard that the infrastructure is bad and peopple do not even ahve PCs to work on..

Please do let me know abt these few points .You could drop me a mail at the below mentioned mail id

Thanks,
Jinesh

Here i am also in same situation. But also i don't have any idea how and when to apply for jbims. whats the process and when it starts. It will be highly appreciated if any of our seniors from that college would guide us.I am presently in delhi....so can't visit the institute personally.

Hi,

I'm a first year student at JBIMS, joined after having 3 yrs exp.
Its definately worth joining Bajaj after experience but the approach for IIMs and Bajaj differs in terms of pattern of CAT and CET.
About ur query regarding infra and PCs at Bajaj, well don't compare it with flashy private colleges as Bajaj is a university department and being so it offers 1 of the best library in india, 5-fl campus, 50 or so internet enabled PCs, AC Audi and speaker classrooms.

hi guys,
this is in reply to 3 questions posted by 3 confused souls.
firstly all of you hav work exp so guys dont worry around 20% of my batch has work exp of more than 2 yrs. so it clearly shows that people with good amount of work exp are doing their mba frm jbims.
and these guys hav work exp frm companies like tcs, mastek, motilal oswal, infosys, patni, abn ambro etc.

guys its true that the infrasturcture in jbims is not that good but then it has been producing such a good quality for years with such an infrastructure.
so it solely depends on you.
the cet forms will come in january and the entrance is in febuary.

regards,
shivam

hi guys,
just a few facts i need 2 clarify.
the stats given above are not official figures but just a very rough estimate according to me.
there were many more companies whose names i cannot re collect but were on campus.
the number of students placed is also not confirmed as this is what i think it is, but the number now seems to be much much higher.

regards,
shivam dave
