Aswhwamedh 2005- The first B-School Conference of current acacdemic year - 09-07-2005, 11:35 PM

Manufacturing & outsourcing as we know is fast gaining pace in India. India is all set to become the factory of the world. But there are still several obstacles that need to be overcome. It is not just that there are plenty of obstacles, there are also opportunities galore. Hence carrying forward our mission to evolve and enrich Manufacturing in India for the new millennium the students at
XIMB have come up with the first ever national level conference in current academic year called ASHWAMEDH-2005. Great things are not done by impulse but by a series of well done small things brought together. Ashwamedh-2005 is a small step which tries to provide a forum for a brainstorming and a healthy discussion on contemporary issues of manufacturing. The topic of conference is "Excellence in Manufacturing in India- Challenges & Opportunities".

Scope & Schedule of the Conference:

The basic scope of conference is to explore a multitude of current issues that affect business in the Indian Subcontinent like

• • New Product and Process Innovation
• • Outsourcing
• • Industry – Institute Interface
• • Competition from China
• • Manufacturing vs. Service sector
• • Indian Companies going abroad
• • Global supply chain and India

There will be an e-Discussion on above issues from 25th June to 15th July 2005. This is the main highlight of the event where people who cannot attend the event can still keep a track of the event & participate in various discussions online and put their opinions and views on the theme along with the experts from industries.

On the forum, students from all over India can interact with the Industry people, put their queries and have one to one discussions. The forum will be moderated by experts from industry. The students can view and read all discussions without logging in but for posting their views, they need to register themselves on the website.

So, participate in the contemporary and relevant discussions at the online forum by clicking on http://www.ximbians.com/ashwamedh The best contributions will be felicitated with mementos and certificates.

The summary of the discussions will be presented before the Panel Discussion on 16th July, 2005. The Panel Discussion on 16th July 2005 is the main & final event of Ashwamedh 2005 where eminent speakers & industrialists will discuss the contemporary issues regarding the topic and present their opinion on it.

The event is being coordinated by XOPS, the operations association of XIMB. For any queries or clarifications, please feel free to get in touch with sec@ximb.ac.in or xops@ximb.ac.in
