Your Day Starts Now !! - 25-06-2009, 02:48 AM

Although on first read ir sounds very inoccous statement, but when it is said in middle of night when you had skipped the previous night sleeps also... This indeed sounds scary ..... This is the orientation session ( or very well known as PDP) of IMT Ghaziabad.

It has been 3 days in campus now, and i had realised that upto how much limit i can stretch myself ( writing this post early morning really needs lot of courage).. It also helped us in coming out of our comfort zones, and the fum which we have at IMT Lawns just bring back the memory of engineering days. I Had started to feel myself young again, ready to take on the world !!!

I want to thank all the seniors who are constantly invovled with us , sacrificing their comfort also. It is one of the best motivated bunch of seniors i had ever seen...

and for a change.. mess is not a 'mess'... the food quality is quite decent ( now dont expect a five star here)... although some times you have to wait in queues to take food ( which also signifies the eagerness among the IMTians to eat mess food )

Morning Yoga Classes are awesome, and as toe mentioned , in "shavasan" we can easily defeat a embarass with our postures.. 90% junta complete its sleep in these early morning sessions..

So, the life is hectic but it is also very fast.. no body here know the meaning of sitting idle... and truly IMT never sleeps !!!

As Told by seniors, in coming weeks their would be interviews for clubs/ comittees and i hope to got through in any one of the prestigious clubs.
Till then, download "IMT Aao" from Youtube and enjoy maadi !!!

Out Bound Training - 26-06-2009, 07:27 AM

Imagine hanging down from a 50 ft high building, with a rope tied at ur back... do u not think this is fun

tday we had the OBT in our orientation week, and believe me it was one of the best day in my life.

We had to perform the tasks in the Scorching heat of June and there was not a single sign of fatigue. Tasks like river crossing, magic mats , Rappling etc were very interesting and also gave us insight about the situation arising in a real world and how do we react to them.

Apart from that, it was wonderful team building exercise , as in the beginning we hardly know each other but by the end of the Training, it was like that we know each other by long time.

Kudos! to IMT for providing us this wonderful expirience.

Re: Life@IMT GHZ - 27-06-2009, 08:03 AM

So Today is the Last day of my most "hectic" week ever.. and guess what i enjoyed it wonderfully well. Last Night was simply awesome. After usual 9-11 Session.. the girls and boys are grouped together for the paper dance, where a girl has to come and select a shoe/sandal from the heap .

As expected, since the sex ratios are highly skewed.. so many guys left single... ( yours truly was also )... but then we were divided into different teams, and have to make a presentation on some topics, and it should be as hilarious as possible.

We got one hour for that, and after that we went and presented the topic. The ambience was almost like bull ring, where seniors hooting like anything , but it was wonderful fun. Some how we completed our presentation and we also won the secoond prize ( though the prize was a Hawai Chappal )...

So its 4:45 AM in morning, and yoga is from 5:15.. so no chance of even a CAT Nap, this would be the second time i had not slept in night...
and please do no ask the first one !!!!

Re: Life@IMT GHZ - 27-06-2009, 02:18 PM

Having already spent one week in the rocking IMT G campus already, I have a lot of details to share in the thread here....

When they say that IMT G campus never sleeps, it is actually true....vibrant campus life....something or the other going on always....That's the way a B-School should be

Within the last week here, I have learnt some great things here from seniors....The things that all managers from any B-School should always keep in mind....Thank you all seniors for teaching us so much....writing it point wise for easy reading....

1: It is totally uncool to be late for classes and presentations....when the reporting time is say 8:30 AM, u r supposed to report at 8:30 AM and not 15 mins late taking your own sweet time....

2: It is not at all uncool to have a great CGPA....Studies do matter....CGPA does matter....

3: All the profs are treated as Gods on campus....even minor disrespect towards profs knowingly or unknowingly is totally uncool....I was truly amazed at the knowledge of profs on campus....Just for the record, I think almost every prof in Finance here is a CA+Phd.....The respect of the seniors towards the profs is exemplary here....Almost all the profs here are IIT grads with close to 20-25 years of teaching experience....

4: Guest lectures and people invited for lectures here are given the utmost respect.......Even minor disrespect towards them is not at all accepted........Again we have seen seniors setting examples here by giving them all due respect....

5: Brand IMT is to be upheld come what may....our actions determine how brand IMT will turn out to be....so our behaviour and achievements shape strengthen brand IMT even more....

Other reports....

1: The guest lectures by IMT alumni were too good....right from VP Marketing Dominoes to COO Airtel, IMT alumni are in tremendously rocking positions....

2: Mess food is actually too good in quality....feels just like home made food

3: Extra curricular facilities at IMT are simply awesome....there is a club for virtually everything available on this earth....

Last but no the least, I thank all the seniors for making our Orientation Week the experience of a life time....

Re: Life@IMT GHZ - 28-06-2009, 12:33 PM

It feels good to be back on Pagalguy after approx two month..... Well here i am near my home place delhi ..IMT Ghaziabad... IMT Rocks and its d administration, d faculty and d students who make it rock to d peak..... well as d details of d orientation week are available on d website i will not indulge into much details... ya the week long programme to get us into ther hectic lifestyle of MBA college, to make us understand that legacy of IMT is in our hands is over and to my utter astonishment it has made its effect....

Campus life is simply superb, IMt never sleeps.... ad its d truth... u can see people stuydying extremely hard..some indulging in the extra curricular activities..... some in one or another club or committee... some chiiling out at nescafe counter.. but sleep not a bit of it....

Before coming to college i had some expectations but i got much more than that here.. ths e amount of effort seniors put in to get us into the groove and come out of the simple relaxing life of an enginnering colllege or IT world is commendable...U rock seniors ...

Our batch of 420 students is welcomed into the IMT family... all of us now ffels to be a part of it already... sense of harmony here is great....with 90% engineers and out of dem 85% work ex in IT world only.... all of us are more or less on the same platform.... Its our effort and capability that will make a diference... students here are master of every thing beat quiz, beat acads , beat sports, beat culutural night.... everything..Batch of 2009-11 rocks....

Profs are Gods on campus....knowledge of profs on campus is awesome with exp of 20-25 yrs it is wonderful to have them on the campus....Guest lectures and people invited for lectures here are given the utmost respect.......we have seen seniors setting examples here by giving them all due respect....senior vice president, CMO, CEO etc alumni network of imt is rich and vast.....

we have got ur books...brand new books and classses start on monday.. today one or two meetings with clubs and after that its all sports and rest....

Mess food is too good simply superb... from icecream to tandooori chapati.... we have everything here...

we had cultural night yesterday and our batch was awesome there... amazing dance performances.. skits, global(IMT reserve word).... the students take out time from the hectic schedule and prepared for it...with so much little time in hand the cul night was awesome....

will be back sooon with more updates...

A great beginning... - 01-07-2009, 03:32 PM

After a week of orientation programme and a total of 3-4 hours of sleep, the classes begin!

The orientation programme's official schedule was 5.15 a.m. to 12.00 midnight, then from 12 to 4-4.30 a.m were PDP sessions with the seniors Personality kitni develop hui yeh to pata nahi, but I never knew that I could stay awake for so long. Thanks to the Yoga sessions which kept our body from breaking down due to lack of sleep.

The classes started from this week. Faculty is awesome! Jitni hamari umar nahi hai usse zyada unka experience hai

Lush green campus, great food, great sports facilties...basketball at night...its good, its all good!

Since Metal and the rest of the gang has posted...why shud i stay far behind

Ok so here goes the lowdown on the most amazing 6 days we had at IMT G.
The week started at 5.15 in the morning, on Monday 22nd June. It started with yoga and then breakfast followed by the inaugural function. We had an amazing alumni Dev Amritesh from Dominos (VP Marketing) taking a session and we gotto see how an IMT alumni walks the talk in the corp world.
The rest of the day went by in a blur....until the night cam and the interactive sessions started.
It would be sufficent to say that apart from finding out the limit to which my body can be stretched, I also gotto interact with amazing ppl. And yes, there were certain stressful situations but i guess thats part n parcel of the life of a manager. So, as we started spending days with less than 2 hrs of sleep....we started taking things in our stride.
Cut to day 2 and 3, with 1.15 hrs of sleep, i was actually experiencing a high.....a strange sense of heaviness in the body but a lightness in the head. I cant describe the feeling but I felt like I could walk for miles, even though when i used to sit somewhere for 5 mins, my whole body wud start paining.
I also learnt the art of dozing off.....smartly.
then came the cultural nite practices....which were awesome. Even there, i noticed the energ levels that ppl have here. The seniors were practicing with us - non stop for 10 hrs....and what that taught me was a very important lesson - when one manages something, one only looks at the desired result and not at the number of hours spent....cuz thats when quality is achieved and the ppl u are managing start sharing ur energy.
Day 4,5,6 went by in a whirl, what with me spraining my leg badly and getting bed ridden on thursday.
But i just had to join the fun my batchies were having....so day 5,6 went in more practicing interacting....

The D Day was the cultural nite and that so totally rocked !!!!!!
I have actually no words to describe the type of plays, dances and performances put forward by my batchmates.....all of them were awesome.
There was quality written all over it....on each and every item presented that day.

And thus ended the Orientation week....and now starts the 'academic rigour'

So...hav to get back to some studyin now....till next time...
Keep it simple ppl
