Dude Kolkata is NOT a small town - we the bongs here at SIBM take great pride in belonging to the City of Joy - Life at SIBM also includes monthly Bong only dinner parties at eateries serving up the quintessential - 'maach bhaat' - Also FYI the month of October is replete with instances of finishing classes and rushing off to the Durga Puja pandal(s) to gorge on the "rasogollas" and "egg rolls" - There are also some aspects to life that cannot be revealed on a public forum - you actually have to be here to find things out - but trust me life here is just Awesome
Wish u all the best for making it to the GD/PI process of SIBM and finally converting ur call... would be nice to have you here

Regards,
Subhasish

Hi Seniors,
I have got through SIBM batch 2009-2011. I would want to know- is the girl's hostel at new campus now complete? And how good is the hostel.. Do we have single rooms or if its a shared accomodation - how many girls per room? How are the amenties available on campus like laundry etc?

Dear Nid ,

Girls hostel is completely functional. The facilities are really good, We (First year students) are putting up in twin sharing rooms, but after our summer internships ( i.e. in our second year ) we shall be shifting to triple seater rooms. There are no single sharing rooms available.
Laundry and housekeeping services are available.TV and TT tables are provided in the girls hostel apart from the recreation centre where we have badminton court, swimming pool, squash court, tt, basketball court, aerobics, gym, yoga etc.. We also have a resident doctor here...

Re: Life @ SIBM - 20-04-2009, 10:02 PM

Wanted to know is there some kind of dual specialization at SIBM also like other colleges, as i came to know frm SIBM site they offer finance, marketing , marketing communications, operations and HR. Is that available in dual also.
I am comp engg. frm IT background with 3 yrs exp in IT industry , not interested in HR or marketing is finance good for me or operations or both if sibm offers dual. whats the scope of these specialization package wise and wrk wise , heard that fanance has best package and also gud wrk oportunities but at the same time it is toughest field :( is that suited for me who doesnot have commerce back ground

A sincere request to all the aspirant to not raise any query or doubt in this thread as this is only meant for the sharing the experience of the life @ SIBM.
Since you have asked so i will answer here, SIBM do not offer any dual specialization and every specialization is equally good it depends upon your interest and liking. Most of the finance people have similer profile like yours and no commerce background.
