Prashanth | Hi Prashanth,
It seems you have been extremely busy. Some few posts back on this thread you promised to write an article about your institute. If you indeed have written it, then please PM me and I can tell you my mail id. (In case you dont want to post it publicly).
It would be great if you can post it on this thread itself, benefitting all the future GLIM aspirants.

Ketan | Hi ketan,
I swear i have written the article . But i felt i have not done justice to it as it was not that classy and moreover it was heavily borrowed from ramki's post. so i felt it wouldn't be proper to post it and guyz accusing me of plagiarizing ,though i have already conveyed to ramki that i am modelling the article on the same lines as his. If you still want the article i can send to interested people via mail. I have read your concerns regarding Great lakes in the aticles discussion thread and i would liek to confirm that it was no conscious effort by Great lakes to use PG as a advertising platform. allwyn wanted to write articles on upcoming B-schools in India which he felt had potential and as well as other B-schools witha differnce. The first in the list happened to be Great lakes. that's it. more articles on other schools would soon follow. Regarding your concerns about the grey areas of our college, it has been stated alraedy in the article. I am not trying to hide any details.
If you still feel skeptical i guess only our placement results can answer the queries. On faculty front we are thumbs up. So the remaining question to be answered is our placement. Once it is up , its upto the applicants and students community to decide whether they want to be or dont want to be at great lakes.

GLIM gives PGP. Is it equivalent to MBA degree offered by other insitutes and accepted by industry.

Two days back AICTE had cancelled the approval for AMITY. Reasons stated that in-adequate infrastructure, high fees and un-approved course are running.
I need clarification whether GLIM is approved by AICTE or not. B'coz its still running from an hired campus. What's going to be its future prospects. Any risk to insititution and its student.
Very disappointed

I have been following this thread closely and I would like some help from Haripi or any other GLIM dons. I am an equity research associate (1 yr work ex) contemplating applying to GLIM in 2 years time. I have been thru the website and know the basic criteria but cud you guide me as to how my profile fits for GLIM as I have a feel that they are more interested in picking up candidates with right profiles. Here r my details.
Graduation. B.Com (Hons)
Post-Graduation M.Com, CFA (ICFAI) pursuing CIIA final level.
Awards/Achievements Best Actor Prize in many competitions, Green Belt in
Shotokan Style of Karate, awarded the title of "Jyotish
Ratna" for studies in Astrology.
Flip Side: Got very mediocre grades in academics especially
B.Com.
What are my chances if I manage a GMAT score in excess of 670....please tell how I can improve my chances.
Thanx. Tumtum. | | | | | | | |

Hi tumtum,
acads do matter but not in such a way that u get rejected becoz u have poor acads.. if u have good work ex, solid fundamentals ,the right attitude , a decent GMAT nothing can stop u from getting a seat at great lakes. Please dont form opinions that Great lakes looks for people with certain profiles and chooses people according to them. all that matters is your attitude, nothing else. so rest assured and apply here if you believe you are ready for what great lakes offers to you as a student.
cheerios,

hey viguu,
w.r.t AICTE approval i guess u need to fn at least for 5 years b4 u get the approval. even for the first 3 years ISB was not AICTE approved . (attended their info session). AICTE approval is a hogwash besides the campus will be coming up in a year's time so no room for worries. kindly see the business advisory council of great lakes. u have one of teh best luminaries around. so the insti is in pretty safe hands. hope i answered all your doubts and allayed some of your apprehensions.
regards,
