did u ask them what does on hold status mean???
whether they wud consider u after the 2nd round was over or something like that??

Hi avi.

I came to know about my selection after i called them up. And in a couple of days i also got a letter (by post) from Great lakes confirming my selection.

After reading choc_guy's statement i feel that great lakes inform you (through post) only if you are selected.

i dont think they inform you if you are put on hold. may be towards the end when u r finally selected or rejected thay may send u a letter.

can u tell the date when u received the offer letter
i mean how many days after u had given the GD and PI..
is it that after the first round was over at all the locations across
india that they finally gave the result or had they started giving the offer letters
simultaneoulsy as the process went on at other places

The results for the first round were declared only after the selection process got over in all cities except in Kolkata.

The offer letters were despatched as soon as the results were out while for people who were on hold or were rejected, an e mail was sent.

that the students are divided into three categories

1)waiting
2)on hold +
3) on hold
4) on hold -

is this true??and after the selection process id finished.. the offer
letters are dispatched in the order mentioned above.

please clarify..

Right ppl.... I take back my arugment on the gd/pi issue. It was based on an assumption that every candidate who applied got a call, which was true last year. This year short listed candidates got a phone call or mail on the email address they gave during the registration phase. That might ring a bell or two for someone!
Hand over the reins to vijai our adm-com lad for future clarifications on admission related stuff .

on hold - 3 categories are purely for internal purposes and have no significance. so chill..

the 3 categories acc to decreasing order of chances of getting admitted are
admitted
waiting list
On HOLD
rejected

very nice thread ya pppl have maintained ... well got some queries to be cleared ....
well first of all got a miniscule %ile in cat ( 67 ).... academics are not good ... 61 in 10th .... 66 in 12th and 53 in bcom .... was food in extra curriculars ... as have played district level cricket ... another thing .. i have done diploma in information technology !!!! do i stand a chance to get a call ??? another thing i have got work ex of an export based textile firm for 9 yrs .. ive been there as an astt.. edp executive ....

plz help me out should i apply or not ???

Hi Peeyush,

Though you have a solid work exp, I feel that your academic performance and your CAT score may pull you down.

So, I suggest you think twice before applying.

Am not discouraging you, but giving my honest opinion.
