Hi all,

I am applying to GLIM this year.. yet to send the applicaiton form. have a few doubts regarding edu. loan. I heard that you can provide a guarantor to sponsor the amount. what are all the documents neccessary to produce for the guarantor besides the payslip. Also, does the guarantor need to come in person and sign in the loan form or is ot ok if we get the guarantor's sign and then submit. It wud be really helful if this info cud be provided. Coz if I get in , then my uncle is going to sponsor me. But the problem is he is leaving for US in mid march and wont be back for another 3 months. So is it ok if he signs and sends me the doc which i can submit ? Thanks

In the last page of the application form they have mentioend all the documents that has to be submitted.

coming back to your question, the signature of ur uncle is enough, he doesn't have to be physically present.
i am myself applying for educational loan and had a talk to the bank managers regarding these issues.

i dont know if the Essay topics differ for the first and the second phase applicants.
i applied for GLIM in the first phase and my essay topics were
1. Please tell us how a management degree fits in with your personal goal for the future
2. Describe the major setbacks / disappointment in your life, preferably professional, and explain how you dealt with it.
3. Assume you are at the admissions panel of great lakes, which of your qualities would compel you as panel member to offer yourself admission
4.Write a paragraph on any 2 of the following
a) Tell us about a person you have known and most admire and why
b) Describe one of the moral dilemmas that you have faced and how you overcame the situation
c) who is the most unreasonable person u have come across in ur life and how did u tackle him/her.
d) ur most remarkable achivements during ur school / college years.

u please confirm it from a second phase applicant if the essay topics are same.

They are same for 2nd round applicants too. I have downloaded the form couple of days back.

just a bit update abt my loan process... my parents had to be present in the bank to sign at a no. of places... including some non-judiciary stamp papers to close the process after the loan was sanctionned.... am sure pradeep has verified... but niki, since ur uncle may be leaving i would advise u to do a double check... this is bcoz indian bank is also a nationalised bank as uco bank(d bank i had taken the loan frm) and mayb they wl have similar procedures... need not wrry much :-) .. i have pm d u ppl my contact no. feel free to call me netym..

what is the interest rate that they r offering. Indan bank is offering 9%. i wud be gald to take a loan from a bank which charges a lower interest rate

Hey this is an open message..
ive kinda screwed up all chances of a good b-school admission.cos my cat score this yr is less thn 70 percentile n last yrs is less than 80.im from the humanities background.
so for the final try thot of applyin at glims.but the ppl wit 90+ ple scare me.my weak point is quant.thot id write get n try n salvage my chances but i dont think ill get into glims.i kno tht if i a call for gd/pi i can convert.....cos im really good at communication n economics....do i stand any chance at all?
so somebody help!!
wat the alternatives for somebody wit a low percentile like me?
