Hey guys!!
maybe i'm a bit late..neways vidhya here..working for sterlite(vedanta group) the past 1.5 years..got thro phase 1 in GLIM..was pretty confused intially..but not nemore...this blog rocks!
guess praveen wud know me..coz i went thro the process in delhi..n manik i'v already sent a DD for 50,000 yesterday..need some info abt bank loans..does the instiute have tie ups with any of the banks..coz when i enquired in SBI,pondicherry i was informed the institute is still not recognised!!!...guys gimme some info plzzz..

Congrats!
The institute isnt Recogonized by AICTE as tehy haevnt approached them for the same and it require functioning of 5 years b4 getting AICTE Approval - as in case of ISB also which isnt recgonised.

About Loans, yes they have tie ups with Indian Bank , though i have no idea abt the rate of interests.

Congratulations!!!

Regd Loan, the institute has a tieup with Indian Bank Saidapet branch. You can get the details from the institute. I guess the interest rate is somewhere arnound 9 . 25 %. Am not sure abt the number.

Btw, I lived in Pondicherry for 5 yrs. Are u a native of Pondicherry?

1. Please post the Required Configuration of the Laptops in case we plan to buy the same from outside.
2. Also Please Post the Rate of interest at which Indian Bank gives Loans to Great Lakers (I read in Mangement Compass that the loan provided is at special rates)

1. Config of laptop. ... the main and only thing is that it shud be WiFi enabled .... so those who wish to get it from outside can do it ...

2. I guess Indian Bank Branch with which the Inst has a tie up gives the loan somewhere btw 9 and 9.5 %. Am not too sure.

Wow!! this thread is bursting into activity as soon as CAT results are out..well, we did expect that..

Reg: placements i am not sure as to whether we are allowed to divulge any information. Until the D-Day happens we are supposed to be tight lipped.

anyways giving you some optimistic picture we do have a minimum of 40 odd confirmed companies participating in the first cycle of placements. another 40 odd are expected.we hope to end placements before jan 20. lets see..

guyz dont worry..u guyz are in much better position than we were and this phenomenon is going to happen for all successive batches of Great lakes. so chill maadi!!

btw the yahoo group should have been named 2007 as we are the 2006 batch..


hope all selected people post in their profiles and interview experience in this thread for the benifit of others and we hope u people will carry forward this thread for the next 20 days while we are busy with placements and take great lakes to greater heights.

For all those who wanted to know abt the loan...I just called Great Lakes and was told (by some one from Indian Bank) >>>

Minimum amount of Loan .. 4 L
If yu want more... Show collateral.
Rate of interest ... 9%
Processing.. They will courier yu the documents to your place ..Go to Indian Bank in your city..and sign the documents in their presence.

hey..thx vijay..i'm a native of pondicherry..passed out in 2003..PEC..n thx for the info regarding loan..but guess i'v to come down to chennai for this..coz there isnt an indian bank over here where i stay(udaipur)..neways i'v applied thro my company to SBI..lemme c which works out better..
