guys i hve some things troubling me abt great lakes.i want to join it bt thn........::::


1.Location:south india!nt very attractive to be among these south indians.thy dont like us north indians and r over jealous n patriortic.besides have to survive on only idly dosa etc.......yuks

2.reputation: hardly any1 knows abt g lakes though its 2 yrs old.this makes it difficult for me to choose it as my big bro n family WOULD THINK Im nuts and its useless.

3.admisson process:i have 85.44 percentile in cat04bt thts coz of higher in english,avrage in maths and pathic(30 percentile) in Di.besides i have 2yrs of work ex in IT marketing(branded computers) and 1 yr in BPO.am also appearing for cat05.now my dilema is wethr to apply in first phaze or nt.coz IF SELECTED THN ACCEPTANCE BY DEC END BFRE CAT RESULTS AND ALL THE 2O000 SPENT IN VARIOUS FORM FILLUPS A WASTE.......AND THN WHICH SCORE TO APPLY?ARE MY CAT 04 SCORES GUD ENOUGH?OR IT REDUCES MY CHANCES....THN TO APPEAR FOR GET OR WAIT TILL CAT05 SCORES.....GUYS GUIDE ME!!!

wow must give u an ace for generalisations!!!! and from when did patriotism become a negative virtue...if u are so prejudiced why even bother. Just find colleges which solely cater to "north indians" and are idly dosa free...and before i forget...doesnt have a single patriotic indian!!!

Hehe. You seem to have an outsized ego, my friend.
We have folks here on PG with 99+ %ile and not confident of making it to GLIM.......You need to read up more on this institute and its stature.

Moreover stop making blanket remarks on specific communities.

I just went through a coupla posts to understand the thinking behind your amazing post.. Now I know that with you amazing CAT 2004 percentile of 85 with 30 in DI (How much
did u score 0??) you must have enough brains to decide on an entire class of people and their patriotism. Of course working in that call center must have given you enough of a world view to talk about anything. Can you please enlighten us on the lifestyle o the Maoris in New Zealand? . Keep your bloody stereotypes to yourself. South India has 10% of your crime rate and 300% your literacy rate . Be thankful to the British that we still tolerate you and let idiots like you live out of our revenue.

To all other sensible people. Sorry if this post is a little caustic, but it pisses me off to see such a dodo decide on who/what an entire bunch of people. South India is a great place to be in and Chennai more so. If you have any inhibitions I'm sure it is more due to built in prejudices than any actual reason. Have you even visited South India? I live in Delhi now and I can tell you that the people are far less intimdating down South and women far safer. We have a major cultural difference and it will not be smooth for anyone who wants to make a transition but to bundle your fears up and make it sound like factual statements speaks of immaturity and basically a complete lack of sense .

it really pisses me off when i see such a post..firstly you insult chennai then my institute..if u r that good please apply to only IIMs.. i am sure they are waiting for u..as far as reputation of the insti goes,well time will tell..and u level headed patriot u have spent 20k on apps , i am sure that your hopes of 100 better institutes than great lakes which will take you with both arms outstretched, will not be belied.

i bet you haven't even read 1 complete thread in this series of posts on great lakes and u pass on your juvenile comments and queries and you want us to answer that.

guyz i dont know i have never vented my anger but guyz like these get on my nerves..


happy apping dude..if u think this college is a last resort for ppl, well we have CEO's and VP's of companies as our classmates and COO of a famous IT company is our alumni. so mebbe for your qualifications these ppl may not matter much and well below your aspirational level of students. so keep thinking!!
