Question What score is a good GMAT score to get into IIMs? - 24-03-2005, 11:19 PM

Hi!

I am trying for PGPX at IIMA. Not sure what score is a good GMAT score for admission? I got 650 and wondering if I shud retake GMAT... have 8+ yrs experience... with 5 experience overseas experience as IT technical consultant ...done BE (Elect) with distinction... any way to gauge if this gmat score wud get me screened for interview?

Thanks!

This thread might give you some insights:

(NRI Admission to IIM)http://www.pagalguy.com/cat/showthread.php?t=3328&highlight=iim+overseas

Have you received PI calls from A/K/L?

Good luck!

Thanks for directing me to the other thread. Actually, I am not applying for the NRI seats in IIM. I am applying for the new course (PGPX) introduced by IIMA for executives (7+ yrs experience). The admission is only through GMAT and not CAT. Its only IIMA which is offering this course so far. Since it is the first batch, there is no history available. I am wondering if 650 is a good GMAT score for this course. Any ideas? How can I really gauge this score?

Thanks.

Being the first year, its going to be difficult to predict how the admissions would happen. One thing is for sure, they'll be looking for a blend of experience and diversity.

Your score of 650 is competitive enough, the 7 years of work experience would put you ahead of the others. I have a feeling they will emphasize the interview performance for the final selection.

Good luck.
