life @ IGSM, greater noida - 25-07-2009, 08:55 PM

The new batch that is ours has joined in with new expectations and dreams..and within this first month in IGSM, I would be lying if I say that I have experienced something similar before...
Assignments, classes, presentations etc are part of a B School. But the kind of culture we have here is quite different from others.. We are not just into studies but also in various other activities which I will let u know in due time..

I know our college is not a big name among the students but the talent pool here would reflect otherwise. We always dont need to be very famous. Some people show what is in them only by deeds and we belong to one such college where we believe in excelling in every arena..

Anyway, I hope this thread will continue to grow as we find and learn more from IGSM... From my end I will be posting more about what IGSM is about other than projects, assigments etc....And I hope my batchmates and current seniors and alumni too join...

Truly said, saumya !
Its been a unique experience for me as well at IGSM so far ! The friends that
I made here, are all from varying backgrounds and various different places and have a great deal of experiences to share among each other.. the kind of exposure i got here, has given me the real feel of a B-school environment.. For instance, for the mid-terms we have, starting from the coming monday with our group efforts we have almost finished all the subjects studying together and helping each other in all the subjects.. and not only the academics, I perceive that in the extra curriculars also we have got a great deal to look forward to ! puys, since we're having the mid-term exams from this monday, I'd have to keep my post limited to this much as of now with the promise that I'll keep posting in to share my experiences here in the future too!! cheers!!

Re: life @ IGSM, greater noida - 20-09-2009, 11:50 AM

hi everyone,
life is so hectic here that I didn't get time to post anything new... Well, to begin with different clubs have started their selection procedure for electing the new office bearers.. and as we talk about the clubs, let me introduce u all to the clubs at IGSM:

a) Analyst-the finance club
b) Prizm - the marketing club
c) Vikasna -the HR club
d) Ecogreen - the environment club
d) Esportivo - the sports and health club
e) Illuminati - the social club
f) Xpressions - the cultural club

We also have 2 new clubs launching this year. they are: Verve (the entrepreneur club) and the IT club.

Different activities conducted by these clubs made sure that we were on our toes all the time. Recently several eminent personalities came to IGSM to deliver guest lectures ranging on a wide variety of topics.
The placement season for our seniors has also started..
The first semester examinations are already over... We all are waiting with bated breath for our results.. Hope our CGPA's are up to the mark...

Keeping the fingers crossed.. will post again later.. gotta go now to do an assignment..

By the way..best of luck to everyone preparing for CAT..

Re: life @ IGSM, greater noida - 11-10-2009, 05:02 PM

For me life @ IILM GSM has been an experience of a lifetime till now.Joining in the PGDRM course of the college I was quite apprehensive at first on a lot of issues like would I get the same amount of exposure that an average PGDM student who came through CAT gets here. All those weeks before the session actually started wasnt sure if I had made the right decision.
Then the day finally arrived when the session started and on the very first day all my fears and apprehensions just vanished. Everything was the same for us as it was for the PGDM students be it the building, the faculties, the clubs or any other facility.
Since the day I joined this institute life has been very hectic and tiring. But it has been equally exciting. The presentations, assignments, projects, meeting the deadlines, added to all these balancing the club activities with all of it has been fun and exciting.
One thing I learned at IILM GSM is the feeling of this immense satisfaction that you get when you accept the challenge of handling your classroom assignments, the projects, the presentations, your club activities, your personal life all at the same time and come out as a winner. That feeling is just plain out of this world.
I dont think I would ever regret my decision of coming to IILM GSM .More than just the bookish knowledge the institute is helping me evolve as a better person

"HELL IN HEAVEN"...no better words i could find to name my "SO CALLED" life in IILM GSM.Remember the day, when i got the selection letter from IILM GSM...just jumped on my toes with thrill and excitement. After all, i got the pass to enter one of the very good b-schools in delhi/ncr.I started even fascinating about the great time i will be having here but all my dreams just thrashed.Do you know why?...come here and you will get to know "why".When one gets burdened with heavy books, heaps of projects and tonns of assignments & quizes, one has to set aside his/her wish to enjoy, sleep and have a blast. We too are the victims of this TSUNAMI of endless work load.BUT as sometimes ,one is kucky enough to get surprise packages..we too feel the same when we see our proficient faculty, great learning atmosphere, opportunities to augment our knowledge and awesome crowd here. Our routine here goes like this:
"""6:00 in the morning -alarm makes us wake up
6:30-morning walk
7:30-ohhhhhh.. getting late.. just freshen up fast yaar...its my turn(to room mate)
8:30-finally got ready.....if have the time then breakfast otherwise straight away to college
9:30 to 5:30- crushed in the grinder of studies
around 6-back to hostel & revive ourselves for being able to go to canteen for brunch
after 7.00-Oh lord....additional sessions started online.....just sit and do the head scratching quizzes.
if lucky enough and have " bhagwan ki kripa" then get to sleep before 2 am otherwise go on and on and on ..... don't worry my frend you will have enough matter to read.""""
But still i am happy coz got the best room mates in the world who hardly make me feel tired of this boring routine AND how can i forget the most important thing we are learning here...yes it's TIME MANAGEMENT.I can assure people out there one thing that if u are thinking of coming to IILM GSM then get urself ready to face hard times here doing all damn stuff coz this is what IILM GSM wants from u to mould u into Successful Managers.
