And the first post comes after around 50 days , but anyways...

Life has been fast paced, myriad of activities, preprocess and elections for various junior committees, I-clubs, ahvan (previously IRIS), utsaha, Indore Marathon, Cults Fest... and of course academic activities (classes, quizzes, mid term, assignments, presentations, guest talks etc) held in between.

Acads - I never understood what Art is. My mind doesn't comprehend what Science is. Accounting is both Art and Science. My balance sheet never balances properly (well..... I introduce loss to make it balance)

Food - You will get various types of dishes here. My take it's okay...

Physical activities - People engage themselves in TT, Badminton, carrom, cricket, football, basket ball etc to waste time.

Campus - Campus is pretty good and is huge. With my poor navigational skills I need a map to get around.

Weather - Weather has been pretty good, off late it is getting more humid. Rain here comes when it wishes and lasts as long as it wishes. Once it took 3 days for my clothes to dry. I finally figured out how to hold an umbrella properly in rain.

Sleep - First week was hell, after that I manage 5 to 6 hrs in installments

Dear Friends,

Indian Institute of Management Indore is proud to launch the quarterly business magazine- IIM Indore Management Canvas .

This magazine contains articles not only by students from IIM Indore but also from Industry stalwarts of the likes of Anand Mahindra, Subroto Bagchi, Girish Mehta, Gaston Legurburu, Shubhaseeh Anand to name just a few.

Recently it changed its name and became branded as IIM Indore Management Canvas. In this effort it has also obtained an International Standard Serial Number (ISSN)0975-5012 from Paris, making it an internationally recognised magazine. This new magazine is not aimed to give one a monthly update of events nor does it want to report an incident in hindsight.

Rather it wants to bring forth the ideas/models which can change the business landscape in the future. This is the picture we want to paint in our Management Canvas.

Assignments just when u thought u can lay back and watch some movies...

classes @ 8:45 and its always Just In Time that has worked for me... i envy those second years who dont have morning classes...

IIM Indore's E-Cell organized an Entrepreneurship workshop on 25th Oct 2009 in association with NEN and iBranch.in
With the theme "Business Ideas and Opportunity Evaluation", this workshop was conducted by Professor Vasanti Venugopal from the Department of Commerce & Management at Mount Carmel College, Bangalore.
The workshop featured in various group activities for idea generation and presentation in addition to videos which Prof. Venugopal used to convey certain key messages. It also gave an idea of how entrepreneurial ideas can be evaluated by keeping in mind macro and micro level aspects for both the market and the industry.
The event saw participation from over 100 students from more than 10 B-Schools in and around Indore.

Well you cannot call it an online quiz per se, but we conduct India's most popular online puzzle event called Klueless - and it starts this year in 4 days (so great timing on your part )..

You might think the last couple of posts look more like a event forum than a Life@ thread but a lot of time in second year is spent in either organizing or participating in various events. To give you a perspective, this was yesterday's schedule for me

* Woken up at 10 by my neighbor banging at my door - (Alarms aren't that effective for sleep deprived people)
* Integrated Marketing Communication class from 10:15 A.M - 11:30 A.M
* Had to polish our execution plan for Utsaha!, which is our Rural Marketing fest
* FMCG class at 3:30 P.M
* Business Analysis and Valuation class at 5:00 P.M

* Had to catch a few hours sleep till dinner
* Watched the finals of our cricket tournament post-dinner (PGP1 team trounced the PGP2 team)
* Played the final round of Mousetrap, which is a online simulation game from IIMA
* Started working on Klueless till about 4 in the morning (Interspersed with Maggi breaks in between)

* Woke up at 8:30 A.M and so on ......

If you think this is tough, then consider the PGP1 guys who have their mid terms coming up next Thursday and three assignments this week (Now you know why we never post much in first year )

Will give you more of a heads up about how Utsaha! went next week ..
