@ hiitsds12b
what u heard is absolutely right.comparing with other premier bschools of the country( the top 30), the fee strc is quite low.for the2010-12 batch, the entire tuition fee for MBA is Rs 5,40000
+
since its a Govt of India sponsored management bschool-the faculty selected for the course r best in the b-field,n the option of grooving under vastly experienced and highly qualified faculty will surely gonna fetch us some ratings in future...
hostel rooms r with a monthly rental of Rs 2.5k. rooms on twin share basis.
if your friend is from Delhi, he can opt for the hostel and only hav 2 shed Rs 60k(2.5 X24) for his 2 yrs at Kolkata- point is, even the hostel fees are not sky high when put along with other clgs which charges anything b/w rs 4k to 7k for hostel rooms...
any further queries plz post post it on the below link....its 4 aspirants like u and u may also find other relevant info related to IISWBM there..

10:30AM in the morning. A lecture starts, which typically ends at 12:30, when we take a break for 30 minutes, where we have cigarettes on the 4th floor roof-top penthouse.
We return to our classroom at 1PM, decide about who would represent our institute at an upcoming inter-business school event (they are so frequent)!
In no time we hear from our Students' Coordinator that we (in various groups) need to solve & present a 10-page long case study on some next week’s class. Sincere people sit together in groups to discuss the case study. The 2nd lecture is post-lunch (a lecture is of 2 hours) and we don’t afford to miss that (esp. when a reputed professor like S.K.B. analyzes a business case in the light of subject matter).
The end of 3rd lecture at 5:30 in the evening brings relief with the end of academics. There begins a new get together, outside the classroom (remember the penthouse). We have serious discussions over cigarettes and tea about the upcoming corporate-event at our institute. The Events-team is responsible for planning and organizing it. Some different group of people discusses the placement-trips. People join in, the juniors and the seniors, put inputs, take up with issues, ideas. Brainstorming sessions! Some come up with some textual knowledge. Someone very practical! Eventually we reach a consensus.
At IISWBM, we have co-curricular activities to engage in (you never know, when someone comes & tells you that you've been selected to participate or for that matter volunteer in an upcoming event). We enjoy academic infrastructures of high-end technology – seminar rooms, smart boards, auditorium, and assembly hall, besides the basics such as Wi-Fi in the campus. ‘Academics’ is tough. 16 papers per year! Whole new concepts!
At MBA (full time), the flagship course, we have 3 major events – Insight (annual corporate panel discussion), Paradigm (annual alumni meet) and Managereal (annual inter-business schools’ meet).
