hi:

you might want to take a look at this link..

http://www.iifm.org/pgdfm/placement.html

this gives a list of organizations recruiting from IIFM...

one of my distant relatives passed out from IIFM.. i lost touch with him, all i know about him is that he is quite well settled in US. he did take up a PDF offer from UCLA after graduating from IIFM...

regards
rp

tis a gud college to go ni case u wanna do PG/PhD in US etc with full schol....has a beautiful campus in midst of jungle !! ..campus placements in india are sort of OK but thn if u like rural/resource management plus a heart for enviro its a neat place to be in.....dont expect (or fear ????) hardcore forest management jobs though..most of which is anyways reserved for IFS...

iifm is a good institution... but like irma this also mainly focuses on a particular field...
if u are lover of nature and are interested in say some geological field then this is a great offer.

but if u are looking for the hard selling and marketing type of life then i do no think it will give u that much edge...

Hey I think I see govt sector has only 13 % of entire pie. And it's foolish that doing an MBA from any premier institute doen't qualify you for a govt job, the problem is you are actually overqualified for a govt sector, it's not that u won't get a govt job but the point is wether u want to do a govt job.
1. In govt job u have linear growth i.e no matter how hard do u work u r emoulments are limited rewads are less, u r growth depends on expereinece
2.In a corporate u r groth would be exponential , finacial returns huge and mainly depended on your hard work and rewards are as per your skills not no of years

I have also got a call from IIFM and also got a job in HAL banglore but still i m preferring BIM Trichy which m thru coz of future prospects

Think abt it ...........

Run Forest Run.........

Sorry But cudn't help it.Personally, I feel IIFM is a better option over IBS for the following reasons.
1. IBS has over 700 students(ONLY in HYDERABAD) for all the difernent courses and the placements are together. SO......... After all NM finds it dificult to place 240 odd students in the city of Mumbai.
2. My friend studies there and the infomation is First hand- He's too uncertain of his future now.
3. True, IIFM has lesser initial salaries, but scope is immense.
4. Lastly it's ur personal interest. If u don't see urself doing forest Mgmt (Is it because the name sounds unglamorous???).... Then ONLY IBS is a better option.

All the best.
May you take an informed decision.
