The 28-year-old Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad has always been host to many knowledge sharing sessions. This time the institute will play host to IT head honchos during a conclave, to be organized by the PGDM(IT) Program on October 4th, 2008. IT conclave was introduced at IMT last year due to the increased inclination of students towards IT Management. This time the theme of the conclave is marketing challenges for IT services and products.
The IT-Conclave 2008 will serve as a platform for the students of PGDM(IT) to interact with the industry representatives as they prepare themselves to step into the corporate world in 2009.
Drawing from their immense experience on the research of global business trends, delegates from companies like IBM, Microsoft, CSC, Global Logic, HCL Technologies, TCS, and other dignitaries will discuss about the marketing challenges IT services and products in the first panel discussion which will be focused on theme of the event “IT marketing challenges: Services v/s Products” and about emerging business models, trends and technologies in the second panel discussion.
First panel discussion i.e. IT marketing challenges: Services v/s Products will emphasize on the need of Indian companies to make a paradigm shift in their focus from services to products. Shifting to a product oriented strategy requires different business models, strategies and capabilities. In this case marketing will play a pivotal role with the primary challenges being market positioning and penetration.
Second panel discussion i.e. Emerging business models, trends and technologies will emphasize on emergence of new trends and technologies and the need of IT companies to adapt to these changes or else face the consequences of not adapting. The theme lies on emphasizing dynamic changes in the business models of both products and services companies in the IT industry. A mere sampling of the trends and technologies includes Software as a Service (SaaS), Alternative Delivery Models, Innovation Management, Application Streaming, Virtualization, etc.
Along with the panel discussions, there will also be an Inter B-School B-Plan Competition encouraging young minds to showcase their talent in the field of entrepreneurship. Teams from premium business schools like IIM Bangalore, MDI Gurgaon, NITIE, MICA etc. will compete among themselves and the winners will be decided a panel which will consist of our eminent faculty as well as corporate guests.
