B-schoolers - How to get your B-school's official footprint on PaGaLGuY? -
23-06-2008, 07:28 PM
Dear B-school junta ,
Many of you would like your B-school to be represented in a better way on PaGaLGuY.com but do not know how exactly to do so. This post is meant to get you started on just that. I am posting a few bare essentials to start with, but you can always post your queries on this thread on specific doubts.
- Are you in the News? Get your B-school's news featured on the PaGaLGuY.com's B-school News section. By writing constant news stories about the happenings in your B-school - special lecture series, festivals, achievements - you constantly stay in the public eye. Whatever news put up on PG B-school News section also appears immediately on Google News and is read widely by corporates, academics, students and alumni. If your B-school has a Media Committee or a Public Relations Officer (PRO), ask him to send Press Releases to our editorial team at submitstory[at]pagalguy[dot]com
- Your Director on PG! Get your B-school's Director or Admission Director's interview published in PaGaLGuY's Dean Interviews section. Our Editorial team will interview your Director with questions about your B-school's admission process, faculty, infrastructure and placements. It's the easiest way to reflect what your B-school is about to future aspirants! To get your Director's interview published on PG, write to me at editor[at]pagalguy[dot]com
- Media power for your fests! Give your B-school events and festivals the power of PaGaLGuY.com's reach. PaGaLGuY is India's largest MBA website and is followed regularly by Corporates, MBA aspirants, MBA students, Alumni and others. Tie up with us for a Media Partnership with your B-school festivals and be on top of mind recall for all MBA stakeholders! We support all student activities for free and we'll publicise the hard work put by your in your festivals to ensure maximum participation by others and brand visibility. In return, all we ask is to be Media Partners with your event (Yes, it's Free!). Sometimes we also do innovative contests with B-schools for some viral marketing (Example - WINtaglio with IIM Calcutta (WINtaglio 2007-08- an IIMC Intaglio Initiative!)) B-schools that have had PG as media partners since the last 5 years include - IIM A, IIM B, IIM C, IIM L, IIM I, IIM K, XLRI, Symbiosis b-schools, IIT b-schools and more! Write to marketing[at]pagalguy[dot]com to tie up with us!
- Official Admission Query threads - In 2007, we convinced the Deans and Admission Directors of ISB Hyderabad, Darden-Virginia, SIBM Pune, SCMHRD Pune and a few other B-schools to participate in person to answer MBA aspirant queries about their B-schools on the PaGaLGuY forums. This was a very interesting exercise because for the first time ever, MBA aspirants got to solve their doubts directly from the Deans of top B-schools! If your Admission Director would like to participate in this engaging activity, please write to me at editor[at]pagalguy[dot]com and I will get an Official Query thread started for your B-school too!
- Life @ threads - Does your B-school have a Life @ thread? Check this section out. B-school students of all top B-schools regularly blog about their experiences at their institute. These threads are followed regularly by all MBA stakeholders to keep in touch with the culture inside a B-school. If your B-school doesn't have one, start a Life @ thread and share snippets of your experiences while doing MBA. But a bit of a caution here - do not try to misuse these threads to publicise or advertise your B-school's application forms, etc. That will be taken as a violation of PG rules!Besides that, do ask your school magazine to get in touch with us, PG might feature some interesting articles written by your batchmates. Or if any one of your batchmates has a special achievement behind him/her, we'd be glad to interview him/her for PG. We are also open to other creative ideas where we can provide more insights to into life at your B-school.
We usually reserve Option 2 and 4 for well-established b-schools, or rather b-schools about which the people-at-large are curious. For other b-schools, we suggest you work hard to first get yourself familiar with people of Pagalguy via other options.
And for any help required, you can always PM me
Cheers,
Apurv
