The Begining!!

Its been only two days since we all started our journey of MBA @IMT-Dubai but we can already feel the heat..

So,Now the question arises why the hell are we facing this heat..??:confused:

Well the answer lies in the itineary which has been prepared for all of us.as I had informed in earlier posts also we have got an early morning yoga to reach to every morning and the time is 5.30 AM,then after an hour of yogic gyaan,we have our team building and leadership exercises which happen all day long,these exercises are being conducted by 'STEP' an HR Consulting organization and I must say that they have chalked one hell of a week long programme for us including all the adventure games and what not..I am sure the amazing amount of knowledge that we are gaining thru these fun filled exercises will go a long way in shaping not only our careers but also our life's!

Management Fundas Learnt in Last two day @IMT-G.

1) Time is the most Precious commodity in our life.

Well,this is the first management funda that I have learned in these couple of days,nothing is as valuable as your time and how do u manage your time defines what kind of life you will have.

2) When you got to do it,you got to do it.

Self-Explanatory.

I will come up with the details of the interesting activities that we have been doing over the last couple of days in my next post.

We have been having quite a few of interesting activities for all of us in the last few days,we have had varied experiences but I am sure that each one of has gained not on

Some of The Interesting Team building Exercises @IMT-G.

1) Trust Fall.:beta1:

Simply loved it!

Best Part:One of My batch mate started shouting even before he had jumped and continued shouting even after she had reached the ground.Fear makes all of us do strange things.

2) Pipes.:cool2:

A Game of Patience and Concentration,I simply loved it.

Lesson Learnt:Never Relax in a Game,we were winning by quite a margin,then got relaxed and the result game-drawn:(.

3) Skit Play.

I thought I was not much of an actor,but how wrong I was...I am a bit of actor...:laugh:,took part in two im-promptu skits yesterday and boy was it fun,the instantaneous nature was the best part,sample a topic in which our team perfromed a skit,You have been caught red handed blackmarketing a movie ticket to a couple by a cop.(You got the two extra tickets cause your Gf didn't show up @last minute and you are in for a loss if you didnt do something),such gr8 plots to work with we had fun.

These games and all the games that we have been involved in,have really helped us all in gelling up together and knowing each other better.

Kudos to Step Team and my Class of 2010!

With these Thought in my mind,we ended our week long leadership and team building exercises.Now the reason why this thought came to my mind was that at many times during these exercises when we were formed in teams and used to play in competitive spirit,we were told at the end of the game by the instructor,who told all of you guys to compete,we all were just trying to have fun.:laugh:

Take Aways From This Week:

1) You have to have a strategy and co-ordination in place,in anything you do.:idea:

2) You should Know your strengths and work on your weaknesses.:gunsmilie:

3) It doesn't feel good to loose.:sly:

4) Have to Work On My Fitness !

Things Coming Up For Next Week:

1) Our Respected Director Sir,would be visiting us on Monday.

2) We have got a Cultural Night planned for 26th Sept.

3) Classes Begin from 09:00 Hrs Tommorow Morning.

Professor Sabharwal is one amazing teacher and the way he relates the thngs to our day to day life,simply amazin.

Then,We had Our Accounting Class..I am never good at figures,but the way our professor Ms.Anupama Mehta put across the subject to us,has made me look up to this subject now..as they say "there is a little bit of accounts in everything we do!"

Coming up is an accounts class at 2 and a guest lecture.:idea:

Looks like we are all set to fly to Dubai..

Classes Goin on as usual..

Subjects Covered So Far:

1) Marketing-Looks like a subject,that I can fall in love with.:happy:

2) Business commnuication-Looks like a repeat of all the PDP sessions,I had in Satyam.:sarcasm:

3) Quantitative Techniques-Mathematical Skills forms the base of an good manager.

4) Economics-

5) Accounts-Looks like an Interesting subject.

Great analysis of your possible future equations with all the subjects you will encounter....

A word about Accountancy, I being from a commerce background took Accounts sessions for my engineer batchmates...

You will most probably have a love hate relationship with the subject.....Initially you will ask...WHY...aisa kyon hai...waisa kyon hai...why not like this....WHO SAYS IT WILL BE DEBIT AND NOT CREDIT!!!???

Then will come a point where you will be frustrated beyond repair...and then....suddenly it will click...and the entire mystery will unfold...all the balance sheets will match, every journal entry will be right and you will enjoy it like hell....

Some of the ppl whom I taught the basics have outscored me in the end terms

Your prediction abt Marketing and Eco is spot on. Every Marketing prof worth his salt will always give you atleast 1 oneliner per lecture which you will remeber for the rest of your life....as for Eco...carry injectible coffee if you can!!!!
