Knowingly or by chance, we mere mortals are always looking for opportunities . I am one such individual.

Living all my life very close to the U.A.E. ,I never really thought how actually living here at IMT- Dubai would change me , open my eyes to a million windows of opportunities.

I am Lisa James and its now my third week here at IMT Dubai. I came here with a gazillion stars in my eyes. I can assure you that none of them have dimmed. Most of them now dazzle ten-fold.

Here, at IMT- Dubai I have been exposed to character, precision and professionalism, peers and friendship, seniors and more friendship, respect , boundaries and professors, and last but not the least travel and shopping !!! LOL

I hadn't noticed how time passed being here. I've been excited about being part of the IMT family for months. And from the moment I walked past her gates into her grounds, everything about IMT-Dubai was welcoming and warm. I couldn't help but be excited. Never once did I feel alone.

And all of a sudden in a second, I realised that I had found a home away from home.

I ask every new face I see here why they chose to study here. I get a lot of answers and some.

But I know why I chose IMT Dubai :It was not only for a strong career, or for opportunity, or for possibility, development, growth, responsibility , freedom , life lessons, or to experiment, to make my own mistakes, to learn from them, or make memories and gain experiences but for ME!! All for myself !!

I can with all my heart say that there is not even a second I spend here that I regret. Three cheers for everything and everyone at IMT for making my first three weeks here an experience I will never ever forget. [And the fact that its just all begun!! ]

My experiences at IMT are quite similar to my colleagues jeff,neha and lisa.so …they really haven’t left me much to talk about ..but as I am brought up in dubai.. my apprehensions of joining imt were slightly different from theirs…I had 2 major fears :-

Firstly , having studied my bachelors in biotechnology….I was worried about my shift from genetics,tissue culture,anatomy to accounting ,finance,marketing.. secondly, that I would be surrounded by UNCLES/AUNTS coming for their MBA..after years of work experience…

But the minute I stepped into IMT, I was proved totally wrong …I Still clearly remember my first day,23rd august 2009, I entered like a unsure,timid girl entering LKG…for my foundation classes and from that minute life just changed.Its become a big ROLLER COASTER ride….(big here is a understatement …)….Made such wonderful friends in just a month’s time….learnt so much..had so much fun..that it hard to believe that I studied anything at all or that I actually enjoy going to college so much that i dunt mind in traffic every single day or that I m just a month old at IMT (still a baby...) ….

And ofcourse I didn’t really meet any UNCLES/AUNTS …I am amidst people with so much energy that sometimes I feel like an AUNT…. .By the end of the first week people referred to me as a “LOCALITE”…the first time I was called that, I was actually offended….I am as much Indian as anyone else…but as time progressed….my perception and my fellow HOSTELITES perception about the word LOCALITE has changed….it now means “LOCALly settled Indian….who can always help her fellow hostelITES”
The experience so far has been SO amazing!!! ….that I really can’t find words to describe it enough…And like everyone’s knows I TALK A LOT…. and its difficult to keep me silent for very long….so I’ll be back very soon…

Hope u all are doing good.

Life has picked up pace over here..real busy these days..with myriad activities..in a way good for me..keeps myself occupied..freshers inducted in various committees in college..got the freshers party happening in campus today evening..i am sure it would be fun..!!

On studies front overloaded with work..woof..first year was so much fun..!!

Time is passing by like by anything..

Life @ IMT-Dubai has never been more fast and busy as this..its morning 5 here in Dubai and i still don't feel like sleeping,just came back after another night @campus,which had in it couple of Birthday Celebrations,An Marketing Event Presentation, couple of gyaan giving sessions,and also a gyaan taking session.Life as an MBA @IMT-Dubai.

Last one week has been one experience was managing a team for our annual marketing conference happening at our campus;Marketing on Fire consumer behaviour in the middle east,had couple of very good speakers coming in to share there insights apart from the student presentations happening, Didn't know how the week went by,learnt a lot both professionally and intellectually.

Have experienced one thing for sure there is no degree like MBA and there is no place like IMT-Dubai!

Next week seems all busy again,with loads of happening but its time i took a new path and tread it down,as my favourite saying from robert frost goes:

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there

Busy is the word for me as of now @IMT-Dubai,with so much work lined up..time management is another word buzzing in my ears these days...!

Lets Jot down few of the things keeping me busy these days..so that you guys don't blame me for being lazy and not writing anything anew.

1. Marketing summit got over just yesterday..was completely involved in it for last fortnight.

4. Assignments/Project Submissions Big Time.

Life @ 2nd year @IMT gets more fun..!

And,rightly so,i can see the last mile coming for me as well @IMT, well you may say that,there is time Ankur for you beginning to write your fare well messages @this thread....but i justify that,its not my farewell message,its just that when you are struck in the busy schedule of your day to day life,there comes a moment in your routine..like for me its mostly early in the morning,when i get up from my bed and am thinking what all needs to be done today,what all could have been done better and so on..there comes a realization that another day has just gone by and the next one is about to go and i have got so much to do,and it sometimes frightens me,how would i be able to cope up with all the expectations of people around me..will i be able to get what i want..(you know random thoughts which i am sure is not specific to an MBA student:P),and thats when i know its the last mile that counts,so here is to my last mile.God Bless.
