you are not good , you are not bad
you blend and you listen and you dont trust anyone
once you go ...undercover

relax! I dont intend to talk bout some might conspiracy theory here. its just too much of NFS undercover has taken its toll. though work never seem to find solace, I have.. and right now speed is my religion.. err not in terms of assignments.. or hell.. new weapons of mass destruction, thats research papers (which have been made compulsory) but NFS..though things have gone bit easy this sem but more serious..Hope that we survive the upcoming onslaught!

Life in an IIM takes lots of twists and turns....one moment u r happy....another moment u always thing "how did I land up here"....some excerpts from last 3 days
1. had a class for first time in my life from 9.30 PM to 12.30 AM...yup so late in the night
2. had 3 tests today back to back...i am still apprehensive about my performance...but others were writing a lot of stuff and most of them came out smiling
3. got 2 know that few of my batchmates better...and what I came to know was astonishing....a few of them have even patents and what not achievements like calls from US univs and what not...not to mention found out the awesome profiles of the seniors...never thought I could have such batchmates and seniors...quite lucky eh to be among such awesome ppl

thats all for now....today I plan to have a good night's sleep

Its 3.40 AM n i have just finished yet another case and finalized the presentation ...in about 15 minutes it would be bright outside...oh yeah( no typo this!!...the sun rises at 4 -4:15 in the mornin here!!)Life is becoming becoming increasingly hectic every passing day...don wanna be surprised with another surprise quiz tomorrow morning

the seniors have their exams from tomorrow and the mood on campus has changed significantly...Waiting time for a game at the TT table has become zero...

Nag Panchmi on 4th nov in IIM S...
its not a joke we did it in reality and dat too at midnight. It happenned out to be birthday of one of the curviest, slippery ,long and colourful creature!( u can assume him to be a human) of our batch famously known (rather he is only known as) NAG. But beware of his venom, once bitten u wont even ask for water. The offering of milk to this so worshipped creature was the hallmark of the night. Follwing this was the traditional ritual of bday, cake pestering and ink bath ,in his case milk bath also(atleast it will nourish his skin). and finally when you turn to the bathroom at midnight when the temperature is in single digits you better pray to the almighty. But the past records has shown that others have survived this onslaught and so we can forecast that (hopefully) those coming will also.

May the Venom rest in peace(Issued in public interest)

Life@IIMS - Part II - 06-11-2009, 06:18 PM

There is a lot the first batch of IIMS has said about this place. Life seems like a repeating experience and their thread seems to tell my experiences here till now.
But as each year is different, batch of 2009-11 also has had a different life, especially with things being more organized here. All the facilities in place - classes, sports, cultural activities etc.
The most important difference is that we have seniors - seniors to look up to - seniors to guide us and STOP us tooooo
I have found some awesome people here; in both the batches.
Life sure is mixed bag with presentations, long hours, TT, basketball, all favorite bakaar. Something is always up and happening on this campus which as it is said never sleeps.

Re: Life@IIMS - 07-11-2009, 11:39 PM

Rigor
that's the one word which describes the work schedule of our institute. When i look back, a few months ago i couldn't have imagined myself working such long hours but now it is a part and parcel of life.

sometimes, in between classes, while doing assignments, working with the group on cases ......it seems to bog me down, i feel like giving up and even irritated. But deep down there is a satisfaction that it is this rigor that shall be my greatest asset a few years from now. With that feeling comes a feeling happiness on being here and being a part of this Institute.

So life continues and so does work. But we also have our fun moments here. And the friendships I have forged here are the one of the most beautiful gifts life has given me.

There is so much here, so much to learn, so much to experience and so much to feel ........ so much of life. I look forward to the journey ahead.

Re: Life@IIMS - 09-11-2009, 08:57 PM

If you are in a B-school it's quite imperative that you will be sometimes waking up till dawn for assignments and all the other brain storming stuffs. But once you are here in Shillong infact you will look forward to waking up till that time and believe me you wont be disappointed.

The best part of the Day+Night is to see the sunrise, and you feel like just enjoying the atmosphere till you realize that you have a class to attend at 9 and you dont want to be caught dozzing off in the class. Well i often take this risk and i am lucky enough not to be caught till date. Quite an achievement. Hope to continue till i am forced to change, infact i may even continue after that , after all the place is so alluring and addictive.

Hope someone realizes the scenic beauty of the place, the classes should be held at night so that the participants can gave a glimpse of the rising sun and den doze off to their beds.

"Shillong I am addicted, I am out of control, you the only reason i am trying" .
