That is indeed true. In the last fortnight, publishing placement reports has become more of a forensic science job for us than plain jane content editing

at PGHQ. We're having to send back almost every placement report to ask for clarity on...
1. Separate domestic averages
2. Disbursement currency of international salaries + location
3. Averages calculated on packages accepted and not packages offered
It's amazing how many skeletons we could dig out

. But I appreciate it that most placement committees did clarify with the figures, even if after a lot of protesting.
Those who didn't (FMS Delhi for example, who have not revealed their domestic average), we have simply chosen not to publish their placement report until they give us the correct figures.
Edited to add - this still does not ensure that we're getting the accurate and
true figures, because we cannot verify that. However, we are getting b-schools to at least commit to the figures on the basis of the 3 criteria above. If they're committing it wrong despite our efforts, they're lying on record.
