IIMK Backwaters’08 is proud to present to you, Head Hunters, the first in the series of exciting events under the vertical of HR.

Human Resource has indeed evolved from being a mere support function to one which is intrinsic to the success of the organization, but have things really changed all that much?

The new Buzz words are Employee empowerment, Protection of interests, and turning employees into a competitive advantage But,recruiting is still a very intrinsic part of their jobs. With India evolving every second, it is imperative that the HR division of the company recruits thebest of the talent available from a myriad of sources all over the country.

So do you think you can identify the parameters required in a candidate so that he excels in your organization? Do you know which tests to use so as to measure those parameters? Are you sure you understand your firm enough to find a “best-fit” with respect to the candidates?

The game will take place in two phases. The first phase will be elimination round consisting of a task that will be uploaded on our website.
The shortlisted teams will be invited on campus for the second phase. It will consist of three rounds to be played over a period of 2 days. The best will emerge as the winner.

Round 1

The participants are provided with business information and relevant data about a project to be undertaken. The teams have to devise the project management model from the given data taking into consideration the dynamic nature of all the given constraints. The model should be capable of effectively scheduling the project to complete successfully in the mentioned constraints.

Round 2

6 shortlisted teams, will be given a new set of constraints to be incorporated in their existing model. These teams will be invited on campus during Backwaters’08 to present their solution to an elite panel from KEC International.

Employee retention is the biggest issue being faced by employers ,with attrition rates reaching never before levels!

Do you know how to work out the right mix of HR practices to boost your employee morale? Do you know what welfare activities are most valued by your employees? Do you address their complaints satisfactorily? Is your work culture centralized or do you do things using participative management?
