Hello friends,

Yesterday, a team of Chinese delegates from Chinese embassy were here in the campus and they gave a small presentation talk to the students. The discussion revolved around various Chinese policies, R&D and about the economic aspects of their country. A few of our batch mates were got the chance to meet them personally. (Thanks to our department faculty Prof. Jayanta Chatterjee). Every one eager to listen from them, their policies and the initiatives taken by their country. It was like a first hand learning experience for all of us. The event could not escape the attention of the media and the whole event was covered by Zee News Team.

Hello friends....

coffee, tea, late night canteen, group case studies, assignments and management lectures are a few of the buzzwords here as the mid sem are approaching.

They say, the best learning comes from mutual sharing of knowledge and in continuation with the trend, we had management seminar lectures from differnet institutes. This time we had Prof. Ramakrishnan krishnamurthy from MDI gurgoan and Dr. Rakesh from IMT, Ghaziabad. Prof. Krishnamurthy shared his knowledge and his studies in M& A and how these studies help an investor in his decision making and stock selection. Indeed, a great learning experience for all the investor junta here. Dr. Rakesh talked about various HR and OB related issues and his studies on the retention part of employess in various organisations.
looking forward to more of such kind practical studies and knowledge sharing exercise in near future....

Ceterus Paribus, profs being profs, seminars being seminars, post-evening sessions being post evening sessions, me being me, most of the gyaan on offer managed to flow thickly past my numbskull without making any dent. But Hope springs eternal, one day I shall be able to collect some of the bread crumbs after all...........

Mid sem are just over and a memorable phase in our life...once again all those memories of working in groups, going canteen at 2 o clock in the morining revived up. Now, IIT kanpur is gearing up for a new phase It's celebration time . so, ladies and gentlemen ............IIT K is gearing up for a new life.....A life never seen before.....It is gearing up for a life.... the life never heard before..... after those sleepless nights, it is going to live a life never lived before. The life will rock the whole world around...... because the world expect us to work hard and party harder, but we believe in working harder and partying in the hardest possible way.

Are you ready to be a part of this celebration and begining of a new phase????

hello friends,

so, the mid sem over and all geared up for the next phase.The phase to rock. Preparations are in full phase for all the upcoming cultural, business and various other events and it seems the atmosphere is totally changed. A few days back, every body was asking for notes and books, but almost every one has jumped in with his/her creative ideas and their team plans. The quiz week is in full phase and on the first day itself our MBA champs grabbed first position in Sports quiz.( Oh! by the way, we also did't know that apart from playing well, their have some preety good knowledge about sports world also!!)

It seems weather is also in full mood and masti all around. With the showers outside and fire with in....people are enjoying their life in their own way...listening to music, playing football, TT , vollyball and some are in their own thoughts writing poems and articles and some freaks sticking to their lapies, someone with his guiter and pensive memories in his heart , some hanging outside with their friends and capturing the beautiful moments of their life...... each one has his or her definition of life. But the meaning of life is same for one and all.

hi all,

Studies geared up after some "cool days" following midsems.. So back to all the presentations, case studies and all the gyan flowing from the profs..
Yesterday we had an interesting "Maarketing" seminar given by Prof Arindam Banarjee from IIM Ahmedabad.The seminar was a pleasant change from the usual marketing gyan and incorporated his practical experiences in the marketing research analysis in Mumbai market. Some inferences from the marketing research in USA also proved a useful insight for all of us. Moreover, the interaction with the prof after the seminar really elated us and believe me made marketing study a real fun

Well lots of gyan this week.. But the weekend is poised for more fun with a party comin up.. And this time our gurus and seniors will join this party.. its one of the most awaited parties comin up.. we are gearing up for some special and even "surprising" performances.. seeing the enthu flowing among our batchmates the party is sure to rock..

Yesterday... yeah Friday the 14th will go down our memories as a wonderful time we were all together.... now who includes this "WE"... yeah this time it was the faculty too...
Usually what happens in class (and outside it too) is that we are at a certain mental level and they are at another one... and the gap between those levels is not much... yeah its only a few light years....:(....
But yeterday was good... We got 'together' (mentally too) for the Annual departmental party which the first years throw for the entire department... Faculty came in with family, yeah... small small kiddies... so cute...
Contrary to our perception they mingled so well with us that we were awestruck by this transformation. We thought we had been here for years and all these people are our long lost friends and relatives...
Well the party started a little late (including the normal one hour delay by IST) and at a point the organisers freaked out cause we thought that we ll be the only ones attending the party. But to everyone's relief the faculty walked in together (so wonderful). Its in a gthereing like this we relaised what Simple living, High Thinking is. Faculties... (should i say Gods... ?? were mingling with us like friends, teasing kids, laughing at jokes... i mean what better way to enjoy.
The highlight of the function was a skit put up my MBA students... "Main bhi manager banunga" and as u all must have guessed by the name.... the play left us falling of our chairs because of the mazing humor and story-line... Guess what Head said after waching our cultural event set up... "My belief in our selection process is strengthened after seeing this amazing display of talents"
Icing on the cake was the august presence of Prof. Lever from Israel, who was seen enjoying the events and the Tawa sabjis most.... (Wonder he understood stuff said in hindi?)

But all in all, an evening to remeber and feel proud of.. Wish many more at IIT Kanpur

P.S: The 2008 batch girls were looking very very very pretty. And hence the party was completely fruitful for all they guys (and i mean alll......)

This weekend is poised for some action as the sports enthusiasts take to field in our annual sports fest "UDGOSH-07". The participants as well as the spectators are getting charged up to challenge the various teams from different colleges. Looks we would have a rocking weekend.. And to add to this flavour is the semi-final of 20-20 world cup.. Ind vs Eng.. can't afford to miss that one.. As always special arrangements have been made to enjoy it on a 'HALL-SIZE' screen..
