the one month was fantastic, and pretty fast.
as our professors say, its a honeymoon period.
lets see whats in stock for us after the honeymoon is over.

but i think they make it pretty easy for us.
all lectures dont seem to be a burden, thought the duration in indeed ).

The idea research u mentioned is rocking yaar.
Its taking most of the time but still ppl should enjoy.
Being the committee member, i will definitely motivate the guys.

I should one thing its most important for a college and a student to engage in such research activities. my topic is SOCIAL ENTREPRENEUR.

Wednesday -my fav day of the week .. jus 1 lecture for the day ... Vidya maam's gen mgmt combo class was cool..or sum reason i find the gen mgmt , OB and marketin classes really cool ..the ones into theory and fundas r hard to digest ...but u don have an option...

hurrah!! the Entrepreneurship club is finally gonnna kick off on the 10th ..will be funn... Idea research on my end was dull, but gainin momentum now ..
guyss need to rush ..Mani Sir's career mentoring session starts at 2. hope to hve a better clarity on my wandering career by 3'0 clock 2day ..

I wish u guys were here ..After the days intensive lectures , meetings , discussions and proposals njoying the rocking music . guys Yagnesh he rocks with his guitar ...completely soothened with some nice solo songs and few chorus !!!!! cool weather , sunset with light hearted music may be couldnt be any better ....now i realize why there cant be a dearth of books and forums of life at B school. Yup guys prof mani rocks !!!santa is pestering to leave home ...else could have surely briefed with much more ....keep watching......

Talking abut unique Ideas ...Being a proud committee member of IDEA RESEARCH..I would like to give brief background of the activites done ...

An idea is an image, a concept or abstraction formed and existing in the mind.
And Research is a human activity based on intellectual investigation and aimed at discovering, interpreting, and revising human knowledge on different aspects of the world

So what does Idea Research imply, it is maneuvering that abstract concept in mind to a proper path with the help of research.
That was the practice which was initiated by SIESCOMS in the year 2006 in the form the IDEA RESEARCH COMMITTEE with the Tagline “Where Ideas Evolve through Research.”
The basal purpose of the initiative was to reining in the ginormous energy, ardour, passion, and potential of young minds and makes them understand the importance of research tools that can be applied in industry for recognition of business opportunities and solution to business issues.
This unique concept was undertaken by the students from the PGDBA, MMS, PGPM, PGDBBM, and PGDBF under the guidance of Dean of the college “Dr. A. K. Sengupta” and other faculty members.
During the first phase of Idea research, fifteen research projects were undertaken by the students.
The researches undertaken were impingement based, yet simple, with value-addition as well as relevance for the economy, society, and business.
These researches were an interesting mix of primary as well as secondary studies.

The research reports completed were as follows:

• Foreign Direct Investment
• What Do The Corporate Look For In B-School Graduates
• Aerated Versus Non-Aerated Drinks
• Epidemics and Capacity Of The Indian Pharmaceutical Industry To handle It
• Effectiveness Of Advertising
• Preference For Alternative Medicine In Mumbai
• A Comparative Study of the use of Indigenous and Imported Raw Materials and Equipments used by the Indian Biotechnology Sector
• Public sector and Private sector Banks In India: A Comparison,
• Indian Banking: Evolution Development And Challenges,
• Treatment And Disposal Of Bio-Medical Wastes,
• Are MBA student’s avid newspaper readers?
• Online Shopping in India
• An Innovative Framework for Marketing of Non-profits: A Concept Paper
• Behavioral Finance in Investment Allocation

Once the research was completed by the students, SIESCOMS organized a paper presentation event “Yuktimanthan 2007.”
All the reports were sieved through blind umpiring and six papers were selected for the next level of competition for the “Best Idea Research Paper” award and the rolling trophy. The paper “Bio-Medical Waste Management” presented by the Pharmacy students won the award and the rolling trophy for the “Best Idea Research Paper”.
The event was judged by an eminent panel of judges, comprising of Dr. L. M. Bhole, Professor, Dept. of Humanities & Social Sciences, IIT, Mumbai, Mr. Dinesh Narayanan, Senior Assistant Editor, Times of India, Mr. R. Krishnamurthy, MD, Watson & Wyatt Insurance and Mr. Harish Aiyer, Director, Softcell Technologies.
And at the end of the event Dr. L. M. Bhole released a compendium of all the fifteen Idea Research papers.


This was last year now this year the new researches have been started...and will see to it that the legacy continues...

guys guys guys!!!!!
here above my mates have discussed everything, i think i hardly have anything to say.

But i am seriously impressed by Mr. Mani. His sheer experience speaks. The best part is his communication skills. He is a fantastic speaker. The stress and puses he use id just ear-catching.

I think he will be able to guide us properly for this 2 year journey.

Regarding the I&R (Idea and Research) thing, it is taking people's hell lot of time. But the best part people are getting closer to each other. The best part of this community think is making people to manage TIME in a good way. Having said that, currently i am myself not able to do so ).

But I&R will make people to think, which we didn't do till date. The best part of the topic is, none of us got a topic familiar to us. Hence we are forced to do some basic homework and apply thought on it to make the paper.
