Hey...first time i logged on to PG since I got to MDI....it has been a bit hectic and on the way to getting a lot more stressful
But there are the good things like the nearby theka...where we have our beer breaks
and the amazing football ground! and Sharmaji's Pain is nothing. Pain is in the mind. If you can walk, you can run. The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom. Forza Inter | | | | | The Following 3 Users Say Thank You to rockball For This Useful Post:

In reality the PGPM guys are apparently having the time of their lives - some have also told me that their group activities have hardly begun - which was surprising for me. For us group activities have begun from Day 1 - and well, coordinating with your own group can be such a nuisance - this is something I have learnt here - this is coz u are also burdened with assignments, pre-readings, rumours of quizzes and so on. We have already received 3 projects along with everyday assignments, and 3 more are yet to come. Along with this there are presentations which we are getting used too now (looks like MBA is more about making presentations than learning anything else... )...
Abey Shankar - why say that the hostel isnt good ? I felt that the hostel rocks, nice rooms etc - though the gals hostel has its way eventually - excellent interior architecture and plus several other necessities. Boys toh are always bakraas...
Sat Sundays are fun as well as no fun - most of the NCR guys run off home and the hostel is half empty. Still the guys left behind manage to make the most of it - partying, movies etc etc are part of life here. And so is the trend of birthday parties which I am getting used to, now - where if its Mr X's bday, then he along with his roomie, his roomie's girlfriend etc are attacked with cake, bumps etc etc. Also, though I am one person who doesnt participating in boozing, there is a real LOT of booze happening around here - with the parties and with evrythin else too
Life is hectic - but yes, we are learning to chill and get used to the place...

There are two types of people here.... 1) those who are seen scurrying around with lappies in tow... with a hurried look that says that 24 hours aint enough in a day...(mostly this junta falls into the HR class, and a few from PGPM).... 2) those who swear by Floyd's concept of comfortably numb...these guys spend mosta times playing(football is the most followed sport on campus, hanging out in the canteen, and sleeping in class( esp. the OB lectures....)...these are mostly from the PGPM batch.... now before you assume that I am trying to categorise them as "cool"... the second category is the one which is cluless when an Accounts Quiz is held..and gets the lowest in the Marketing Project.... and of course no prizes for guessing which category I belong to... Mid sems are scheduled to begin from 8th for the PGPM 1st year batch.... I know it's a little late compared to other B Schools... but I ain't complaining..... PGP-IM guys are having their mid sems currently....... One word to the MBA aspirants... if possible get a basic idea of Accounts before you join a B School...otherwise you will keep wondering where each entry goes.... and things will move at a pace that will put light to shame...... Of course this applies to guys like me, not the pseudo engineers who are godly in Accounts also...... | | | | | The Following 7 Users Say Thank You to mufasa For This Useful Post:

The first mid sems got over yesterday...... And I guess on the whole junta has done well.... I think I will feature somewhere in the middle... Didnt do well in Eco (surprisingly)and Accounts ( no surprises here)... and didnt have the patience to let the OB and Communications answers run into pages.... Was the first one out of my examination room on 5/7 occassions.... The senior batch had "advised" us to study less coz it doesnt matter how much you study, questions always left you confused....But I guess we invented another method for ourselves.... well, not exactly invented but re-used..the method that we had put to good use in our Engg days... study a day before, see last year's papers, and pray that you will be able to put something intelligent on the paper... that's what we did... and yup, it worked... I atleast didnt have to submit a blank paper in Accounts... To be frank I havent found the course to be as grilling as it's made out to be.... but then it's my perception...and so it would not apply to all.... and this was the mid sem..the end sem is a month away, and a lot will be covered before that comes..... Meanwhile life at MDI continues.... football, volleyball and cricket matches are on... though a very vital beverage has become a little more difficult to get hold of...... | | | | | The Following 4 Users Say Thank You to mufasa For This Useful Post:

Exams are done - me back to PG --- I agree partially to what Mufasa says... we are really facing a gruelling life these days -- 'we' meaning the HR students... and post mid-terms there are several subjects which make life hell out of us... looks like PGPM guys are taking it easy... but the HR guys have a great life of their own - played TT after a long today - felt real good and back to myself - and well - thinkin of becoming part of the unofficial CSA players club at MDI to have some kickass fun...
Thankfully tomorrow is a holiday and we are lookin forward to a day full of celebrations and events at MDI - telecasting of RDB, games, a cultural nite - and well - we friends have our plans for tomorrow - to celebrate with the nation and with SRK
Chak De India ! Happy 60 years of Independence to all

well gusy it really fel awesome after mid-terms (The best part sab main pass ho jayegein... Just Joking)
well guys just like any B-School we too face exams nearly every month but the life goes on and during exams as on other days we just do pre-read, so it does not matter much.
Ashish says that HR is farcing Gruelling life; come on yaar, its a part of ur life u will cherish.
and yes tomorrow is a celebration day for all of us and we all @ MDI will celebrate it like anything.
Even the feeling of exmas getting over emerged we got too many assignments to complete but that is what we r expecting at a B-School, the best part that everybody of us who was skeptical if we can live this life is living greatly.
We also have our sports going on like Volleyball and Football tournaments and its rel fun to watch the guys play. सिद्धार्थ अरोड़ा ALL THE BEST TO CALL ASPIRANTS HEROES RISE; HEROES FALL; RISE AGAIN; WIN IT ALL CAT2002-98.32%; 2003-96.37%; 2004-98.84%; 2005-80.37%; CAT 2006-99.95%tile MDI (PGPM) | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to arorasid For This Useful Post:
