The match between STALLIONS and TITANS turned out to be a very very exciting match where both the teams played excellent football, but in the end it was Stallions who turned out to be on top.

First half was a very close affair with both teams playing very hard and not giving even an inch to their opponents.
The first half finished with the score - line 0-0.
Second half started off almost similarly, with both the teams giving their best . It was an exciting affair, where both the teams gave a brilliant display of tactical and strategic football.

But during the end of the second half , Stallions were given a penalty , which was converted by Gazi.Their were some brilliant individual performances in the match, most notable one was that of Deepesh Jain of the Stallions .
In the SLAM DUNK match between Stallions and Czars, Stallions showed an excellent team effort and overpowered the Czars by defeating them with a score of 32-8.

SLAMDUNK 2009 CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Its been quiet a while since COPA and SLAMDUNK began.However the rains here at IMNU have been pouring since the past few days making it impossible to play Football.Basketball though also moving behind schedule has managed to stage the CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS tonite......

Let me first give you an update on the SLAMDUNK...as u giys must have tread in my last post,the Stallions defeated Czars and reached the semifinalsm to clash with the Titans.The Pirates meanwhiloe defeated the Bisons and were the first team to qualify for the inaugural championship finals.The Stallions defeated the Titans and qualified for the finals too.The stage was set for the formidable Stallions to clash against the underdogs Pirates.The best thing about basketball matches has been that all sections come out in full support of their teams along with banners,their very own anthems and flags.This really pumps up the players and playing under the flood lights is awsum!!

So here we were all set for the finals...there had been a lot of bakar on IP on who would be the winner but now it was time to fight it out on the courts.The game started with the Stallions scoring the first points.Throughout the first quarter the ball kept hitting the basket and and the board bit no more points were scored in the remaining of the quarter.Till now the match was on expected lines...Stallions leading.
In the second quarter the Pirates got their game together and started playing to their ability and showed why they were in the finals....at the end of this quarter Pirates were leading by 6 points.
The third quarter saw the Stallions bounce back into the game with 2 back to back shots.Another quarter of exciting basketball came to an end with Pirates still leading with a slender two point lead.
The final quarter...herein both the teams put in all their efforts to swing the match in their favour.....after some nail bitting moments..the final whistle was blown and PIRATES emerged as the SLAMDUNK 2009 CHAMPIONS.

This is probably the first time i am writing post on this thread from home ....
Sitting on my bed in front of my lappie with single malt in my hand enjoying these joyous moments and pondering over the things which i miss in Nirma ...

I dont know why the days are so slow here and why so fast at Nirma .....here iam wondering what other things should i do to pass my time other than eating , sleeping and ofcourse enjoying my single malt ...... ....Well there the day is so crunched and squeezed that 24 hours seem so less for it ...

Some say a good business school prepares you for the corporate life ahead . Well i would say a good business school prepares you for your whole life . With no assignments , projects in hand my hands are itching to do some some . Well Nirma indeed has left a stong influence on a lazy bum like me ....

Yesterday we celebrated birthday of my cousin here and things looked so quite . There were no birthday bumps , no bashing around , no cake on face ( the ruckus i am so used to in Nirma ) .....
3rd day into my holidays i am missing the hostel more than ever ......... our hostel , our plethora of glory , our own world , the beauty of which only a few can mesmerize who reside there ...

Well sitting on my bed in front on my lappie with single malt in my hand i am indeed pondering over the things which i miss here ....

NEW COPA CHAMPIONS

Its barely been a week into the new term but the buzz is back here at IMNU.After getting the end term marks the "shaken and stirred"(pun inteneded) students have more or less settled down and are ready for a new innings.New term,new subjects....its a start from the scratch again!!!

Meanwhile...one of the premiere football tournaments "COPA" which had been postponed due to rains last month saw the finals being played today...Two of the best football teams of IMNU the CZARS clashed against the PIRATES.
Czars defeated the Stallions to reach the finals.Pirates on the other hand defaeted Phoneix on their road to the finals.The final match was a closely contested one as both the teams held their nerves till full-time without letting the other team score a goal.This led to penalty shootouts wherin the Pirates scored four out of four shots and the Czars could only convert two goals out of the four shots.
Thus PIRATES were crowned the COPA 2009 CHAMPIONS....first time in the history of IMNU the same section,PIRATES have won the first two major sports tournaments of the year SLAMDUNK and COPA....
With this the PIRATES have established themselves as strong contenders for the NIRMA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE(NCL)...they are team to watch out for!!!

Meanwhile this tournament has fulfilled my roomy's wish of playing in COPA as this was one of the many things on his wish list since he came here... Apart from COPA,IMNU is abuzz with a number of other events too..."RAMZAT"-The Garba and Dandiya night is scheduled for tomorrow evening,we also have the alumni meet slated for tomorrow.
In the coming week ChEhRe-The Dramatics Club will host their premiere event SHOWTIME 2009,this would be followed by the HR Conclave before all of us head back home for the Diwali vacations.

GOALZZZ '09

The most awaited inter B-School football tournament GOALZZZ'09 started today here at planet IMNU.
This time around the event is bigger and better...with teams like KJ Somaiya,NarseeMonjee coming all the way from Mumbai along with teams like IIM-A,ICFAI,BK School Of Management and ofcourse IMNU...it promises to be a cracker of an event!!!

So as per pretty much the expectations,the event started with a fantastic first match.
Team IMNU clashed against BK School Of Management... The match started with a fast pace with IMNU on a strong attack. The first goal of the match was scored by Anand Agrawal of IMNU in the 14th Minute by a splendid header on an excellent cross by Ghazi Shaikh. Another goal by IMNU was scored by Ghazi in the 30th Minute. IMNU won the match with a score of 2-0 at full time.


It was such a great feeling to win the first match of the tournament and that too so convincingly...the crowd erupted with joy as the final whistle blew...The hard work of the team is paying off although the final frontier is yet to be acheived..but none the less...IMNU rules!!!!



The second match of the day was between the title defenders IIM-A and ICFAI,the defending champions proved their mettle by winning the match comfortably... The match began with a promising goal from IIMA scored in the very first minute of the match.The first half of the match was dominated by IIMA by the excellent moves. At the end of first half the score was 1-0.

The second half of the match started with the same trend: IIMA scoring a goal in the first minute of it. Then in the 57th Minute of IIMA scored another goal taking the score to 3-0.


With stronger teams like KJ and NM yet to hit the ground..the tournament is wide open and there are no clear favourites yet.There is lots more coming up from GOALZZZ'09...stay tuned!!!

Posting after quite long on Life @ Nirma.. and strangely. about life Outside Nirma!!Right now.. I'm enjoying the one full week of Diwali vacations.. the only week long official holiday from IMNU!! we get to go back home, get a break from the studies.. assignments, projects, deadlines and what not! these r the days we were looking for since the start of the year!! ppl even go to the extent of crossing in red days in the schedule document as they pass by.. to come closer to the start of these holidays...

Yet.. today when I sit back at home.. one thing I can say for sure..
I miss Nirma!!!
I miss being at the hostel.. miss that run for the deadlines.. those last minute submissions.. that incessant endeavor for enjoying ur life to the fullest in whatever time u can grab out of ur schedule!!
Such is the atmosphere of Nirma. Once u r here, it will spell bound u, and then its gonna be there with you, wherever you go and whatever you do. If you belong to Nirma, its going to get itself embossed in your heart and mind, and then haunt you.. with all the beautiful memories....
