Ho boy! Pagalguy after ages!!! How I've missed posting here
It's been one heck of a trimester and we're almost nearing the end of our first sem here at LIBA. Class tests and mid-term exams are almost routine...not a week has gone by without some test or the other... not to mention the Economic Times and Business Line Tests (which consitute 20% marks in Basic Financial Accouting)
LIBA is perhaps the only college in the country which has a credit-based course on Business Ethics...1.5 credit points reserved for Social Environment of Business(SEB).
Here are a few highlights from semester 1:
Rockin freshers party: It was a theme party where ppl were dressed as cowboys, romans, greeks, japanese, anarkali, akbar, dharmendar!! and wat not..
A village outing: The First Years' batch was taken to a few villages abt 3 hrs from Chennai to understand the ground realities in rural India. This was a part of SEB. The rationale behind this trip was this: As future managers, we'll have to take decisions which will have a multiplying effect on all sections of the society. During this trip, we interacted with village folks. Simply put it was a great learning experience.
Guest lectures galore: We've had a plethora of distinguished speakers addressing the students already.
The CEO of Madura Finance, Lead Economist of the World Bank, an Edward De Bono certified trainer on Lateral Thinking, are just a few of the many personalities who've addressed us.
Insight and
Business Plan Contest: Work has started on the Natl Mgmt Symposium of LIBA, called Insight. Roy has already mentioned this. We also have a BP contest lined up this year, in collaboration with
IDG Ventures and TIE. Do check out
www.liba.edu for more details.
Will continue posting... Ciao for now
