Hello Everybody!!!

I guess this is my first post after being so called senior.

A very enthusiastic batch of juniors...Each of them is so nice n sporty...
Awesome freshers party we had 10 days ago...Enjoyed a lot... Dance performances, dressed in Jodha-Akbar theme to Japnese theme... everythng was awesome....

Then last week we had a chance to meet our seniors also on their convocation.. We got a chance to listen Mr. Gurucharan Das, former CEO, P&G...

Simultaneously lots of other happenings, Study is of course one of these

Will keep on updating here...have to solve two cases for tomorrow:2gunfire:

Cheers!!

hey people!!

well this is the first post on this thread for almost a month.. guess its cause of the pagal guy website not opening up properly in hostel...

well a lot of things have happened@ LIBA.. Plenty of guest lectures with a lot of emminent personalities as part of the Beyond Management guest lecture series here at LIBA..

then last week we had dahi handi celebrations in college... was real fun with the seniors again proving that experience does matter when it comes to breaking the pot..

Also with 2 major events INSIGHT 08 which is our national level seminar on 'Management in Challenging Times' and the Business Plan contest that are going to be held in Novemeber work is going on at a hectic pace...

besides the normal load of assignments, homework still are there...

N not to forget the term exams scheduled for the coming week..

whoever said life@liba is tough is wrong:2gunfire::2gunfire: its damn toughh...

Ho boy! Pagalguy after ages!!! How I've missed posting here

It's been one heck of a trimester and we're almost nearing the end of our first sem here at LIBA. Class tests and mid-term exams are almost routine...not a week has gone by without some test or the other... not to mention the Economic Times and Business Line Tests (which consitute 20% marks in Basic Financial Accouting)

LIBA is perhaps the only college in the country which has a credit-based course on Business Ethics...1.5 credit points reserved for Social Environment of Business(SEB).

Here are a few highlights from semester 1:
Rockin freshers party: It was a theme party where ppl were dressed as cowboys, romans, greeks, japanese, anarkali, akbar, dharmendar!! and wat not..
A village outing: The First Years' batch was taken to a few villages abt 3 hrs from Chennai to understand the ground realities in rural India. This was a part of SEB. The rationale behind this trip was this: As future managers, we'll have to take decisions which will have a multiplying effect on all sections of the society. During this trip, we interacted with village folks. Simply put it was a great learning experience.
Guest lectures galore: We've had a plethora of distinguished speakers addressing the students already. The CEO of Madura Finance, Lead Economist of the World Bank, an Edward De Bono certified trainer on Lateral Thinking, are just a few of the many personalities who've addressed us.
Insight and Business Plan Contest: Work has started on the Natl Mgmt Symposium of LIBA, called Insight. Roy has already mentioned this. We also have a BP contest lined up this year, in collaboration with IDG Ventures and TIE. Do check out www.liba.edu for more details.

Will continue posting... Ciao for now

Term exams scheduled to begin from Monday!! But there isn't much anxiousness, yet. I'm sure once the weekend comes, we'll all be totally immersed in our books.

As part of the Beyond Management Initiative of Guest Lectures committee, we had Mr.Paul Pandian, President, R&D, Tech Mahindra, addressing us today. The company he founded in 1990, Axes Technologies, Inc., was merged with Tech Mahindra in 2005. He has wide business interests in India including Floriculture, Agro Products and Media and Entertainment. He also serves as the Chairman of Greater Dallas Indo American Chamber of Commerce and the President of TiE Dallas. He serves on the Advisory Council of the Management School of The University of Texas at Dallas and on the Board of the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He has engineering B.E. degree from Annamalai University and M.S. from Syracuse University in New York and graduate business education from the Wharton School.

Updates to continue... Ciao for now

Watta Saturday!! - 08-09-2008, 05:26 PM

As a part of the Beyond Management Initiative, LIBA was proud to host two privileged guests on Saturday, 6th September:

Dr. Kandeh K. Yumkella (Director-General, United Nations Industrial Development Organization)

Mr.Anders Bech (CEO, FLsmidth, the Denmark-based cements and minerals giants)

Within a span of a few hours, LIBAites got to experience an enthralling speech by the former Minister of Trade, Industry and State Enterprises of Sierra Leone; and the Managing Director of FLSmidth.

How often does a top B-school situated in India get to host speakers from two diverse parts of the world: Denmark and Sierra Leone within a span of a few hours?

Proud to be a LIBAite.
