And moreover I heard IITians do get international offers(in summers atleast) at C with a sub-8(or even sub-7) CGPA. I also heard no.of ppl taken in by I-banks for summers at C are more in no. than at A or B.
It will be really helpful(atleast for me) if you can put across things in the exact way they tend to happen. I am saying this after hearing from many of your batchmates, who havent given a clear cut answer to this so far. Thanks in advance!
Regarding the extraordinary point - it could be one of many things.
1. Relevant work-ex... a position as an analyst at a bank or a consult
2. Exceptional acads... over the 99.9 percentile throughout
3. National level sports
4. Positions of responsibility
5. Something else that shines out... like representation at an indo-pak conference

With respect to i-banks taking more students at C as compared to A and B, think thats purely speculative. And you will never get a definitive answer to that question...

whats worse...
not being judged fairly, or not being judged at all
i wonder...
