GMAT: 700
Acads: descent
Work ex: 3 years IT
internation exp: NIL
any other professional certifications: NIL

RESULT: Reject

There may be many PGites with different parameters, but with the same result and a strong will to make it there next year...This is thread is for all those...All those who want to re-apply next year...

What can be done to improve/rebuild profile in a span of a year?
-- take GMAT again ..score 750+
-- gain international exp ..(I am doing this currently)
-- CFA...or any other certifications...
-- win Bschool competitions...

I call all re applcants and veterans to put opinions here...lets discuss what can be done to rebuild profile with the fact in mind that I cant go and change my acads, IT experience et all...

First thing, thread is in wrong section i guess...

Anyways...
Retaking GMAT wont help... a score of 700 is good...
What you may want to do is concentrate on essays and recommendations...

Re-buliding the profile as the thread title suggests is not a days or months work... more important would be things which you have done in last 2o yrs and why you have done them... so you'll need to work on your story...

taking up certifications will be definitely an added advantage... but taking intiatives would be a greater help...

Also i dont think adcomm gives more weightage to any activity which you have started in a 1 yr period of your application, so dont think of getting into some extra curriculars or social service...
