know wat guys.....
one thing im really worried about the incoming batch is that they want tobe prepared for it all.....
which will spoil the game.....i mean there has to be some element of surprise....
we aa a batch were part of different groups...but we didnt dig out the minutest of details....
hence we take each day as it is....
i have just one thing to say...
guys....once you have taken a decision.....nourish it as your baby.....
give it your best dont look for what ur decision will give you.....
good luck

yeah we all need to be in touch at network. our big batch strength is our biggest disadvantage - but we can convert it into our biggest postive by tapping in on this huge network ;-)

Hey really nice to see another Life@Skool thread popping up especially when most ol'ies have slowly died and decayed, i see a fresh approach here...sorry for maybe missing out on the thread for the last 6 odd months..but then its better late than never...
i do keep on hearing intrstng stuff happening in IBS...will really be great if this space sees regular updates....there are many rumours/stories/facts that floats around w.r.t IBS and who better to present the life and facts than the present students...
show the world how you live/work/study/party/enjoy ...show them the life
let the thread be more vibrant...cheers
ciao..
P.S - Other b-skool guys who have probably forgotten that even they had a life@skool thread...kindly wake up and follow the example
A Pessimist sees the glass half empty, an Optimist sees it half full, but a Realist just finishes off the drink and ends the confusion once and for all....

Re: IBS Hyderabad Chronicle -

Hi Seniors
Good to find u all stacked up with loads of assignments few related with ur classes and few with ur peers, preferably with the other sex. good to find ppl in pairs makes it easy......... a/w I am Varun Marwah a B.com honours graduate from delhi university. finally made it to the much not liked ibs hyd. when i tell ppl that i'm really having a good time here, all i see is a frowning face asking the same question - "what do u like in here ?" and i smile and answer that each and every thing from mess to classes, from peers to seniors, from lecturers to the ppl who are hard to find but really usefull - the house keeping staff. Please poke me if I'm dreaming but ibs is exactly what i have thought a B school would be and it is really turning out to be better than my expectations. The teaching is fine and the fact you are competing in a batch of 1000, it is actually a real Rat Race, well you can very well empathise as it's been a year u all've been here.
Few of the seniors I know r really helpfull and friendly(Trust me) and they r always there to guide u and aquaint you with what's what and who's who. It is going to be really great
..............and for all the ppl who from the first year who r waiting for some thing more here it comes that....... this big herd of 1000 ppl is rocking (trust me agian).
I'm merely not writing to earn favours from both sides or to have a diplomatic approach but this thread is actually to voice - how do feel deep inside and this is actually a gut feeling that there is actually a lot 'more to explore' within the campus, following each and every line of what is wriitten in that unread rule book, lying in each and every room and there is lot more to go for and trust me ........in the end of it we should not repent that had we have thought of this before, our life would have been a lot better here. anyways i take the liberty of taking u to few years ahead.......> At the end of it we should not have this feeling that we did't do what we could've done in these two years ........................ so fasten ur seat belts becoz it is going to be a really bumpy ride but believe me at the end of it u gonna come to this same thread and say that it was 'WELL WORTH IT.'

Dabbawalas…the essence of ‘Work is Worship’
July 22nd, 2007
I know I’m contributing after such a long time, but let bygones be bygones. Today is one of the most exhilirating days in my life as a student. We had a guest lecture today and the speakers were the president and general secretary of the Nutan Tiffin Box Suppliers Association or more commonly and affectionately known world over as the dabbawalas. What I learnt there??? read on…
I learnt that if you know what you are doing inside out, you dont need to be a great orator. Language is never a barrier to delivering knowledge. I learnt that you dont have to study in a convent school or in a bigshot college to be an effective speaker. You need to have that art of mixing wit, simplicity and knowledge in every sentence you speak, and the crowd wont ever get distracted. I learnt that no matter what you become in life, what heights you attain, if you forget where you come from and what is your purpose for being where you are, you have not achieved anything. I learnt that at the end of the day, your culture and your people will remain the most important factors that make your business a success. I learnt that time management and discipline have an unparalleled importance and can be neglected only at your own peril.
There are a lot of things that come forward when you listen to such people speak. Here you have a president and a general sec. who co-ordinate 5000 employees focussed on just delivering tiffins. So much so that when Prince Charles expressed his desire to meet them, they first of all werent fully aware of the enormity of this visit and they didnt care less if he was God. They had but one answer, ” If he wants to take a look at how we work, he’ll have to be with us and see for himself .None of us have the time to sit and explain things because there are people with hungry stomachs waiting for home made food, and our duty is to serve them “. These are guys who still dont know what is the importance of Six Sigma and what it means to a business. At first they thought it was something tangible and were sort of dejected to find out it was just a certificate. Imagine that!!! ITS JUST A CERTIFICATE FOR THEM!!! They dont know that what they are doing is harnessing the transport system and setting an example in the Supply Chain Management. They didnt know who Richard Branson was, when he was travelling with them in the luggage compartment.
They do know that unless it’s a life stopping situation, they have to deliver on their commitments. The statistics are amazing and can be found anywhere on the Internet. But you have to see and hear them speak to realise that they are your next door neighbours who take pride in the Marathi tradition and values and who put duty before anything and everything else. For someone who are globetrotters now, they are perfectly humble without any air of superiority whatsoever. We always say that discipline is a big issue with Indians, but they are a scintillating exception.
There are many things to write here. Felt really proud to see that ‘aapli marathi manse’ are soaring high in the sky. Please dont miss a chance to listen to these humble but great people.
till then, take care n all the best,
DELTA 1

hello everyone
long time since i posted something here except on bday threads:neutral:
IBS rocks for sure.To manage a crowd of 1500 ppl is seriously a good job done.
But these IBS ppl treat us like teenage kids
they have blocked so many sites in the campus.I dont understand why these ppl have blocked the sites of ECONOMIC TIMES,TOI,REDIFF etc. Even if you want to search for something at google more than half of the sites will be blocked.
Economic times me aisi kaun si news aati hai jisse IBS ke bacche bigad jayenge:eh:
