Re: IBS Hyderabad Chronicle - 08-02-2007, 06:36 PM

well,
pillu...as i aafectionately call pallavi...should be proud of herself. All the time i was wasting she put to good use to get a better grade. And God be just, she will. There has to be justice, hidden somewhere in this cosmos...or we are ruled by pure chance, and that is unthinkable. So i pray that she gets the grades she deserves. There will be an argument that grades do not define calibre especially in a B-school. Even though i would agree with it, that doesnt lessen their importance.
Well i'm back home, met my school teacher who's now the Principal of another school. She was stunned to see me, and must have thanked God to see me not get wasted. She is one of the teachers instrumental in making me what i am today. Felt really nice to meet her. Hope to meet my other 'mothers' too...school is afterall the next best thing to home!!!
enjoy life guys!!!

The question is are we justified in calling B Schools only schools.. They are much more than that. Its a family, a home away from home and its just nostalgic. Its tough to come out of the feeling that its all over !

Wishing all the IBS Hyd guys an awesome Summers and may the qunatam of learning be huge.. Carry on the holy work guys !

Summer Internship Program??

The question mark just seems getting bigger.

while something seems good something somewhere definitely is going wrong. the question is what? where? why?

Just read a mail by one student saying he is getting bored while another says its been a great learning experience? why such contradictory thoughts?

is it got to do with the expectations of the students? if i enter a org thinking that i have a work ex of 4 yrs and then end up doing a sales job will my ego be hurt? will i appreciate it? cant students consider any project as a good project? why do students have expectations and enter an organization for an internship? what if these expectations are not met?

Or is it something to do with the timing of the SIP? is feb too early for orgs to be prepared to attend to 4000+ mgmt trainees from IBS all over India? dont orgs have enough projects? if they dont why did they hire us? why do 8 out of 10 students end up making questionnaires and surveys? why cant the extended SIP period be put to good use? why doesnt IBS communicate well with corporates to get good projetcs?

or is it something to do with the management at college? dont they hunt for good projects and not just good companies? dont they ask the companies to have a project detail in hand? dont the think about the students thru a students perspective?

or is it the organizations fault? did they make dreamy projects and take up interns? or were the forced to take in students by some personal contacts? or did they have a sudden restructuring and the HR recruiter has left the org? or have they thrown shit on some students by recruiting them and then denying the same on the date of report? do they actually practise any responsibility? do they care for the probable employees?

or is it the numbers at icfai? but wasnt that supposed to be the strength of the org? why havent they been able to tap the immense diversity that no B school in india can boast of? why is that some worthy students feel miserably let down and some students jump with joy with the kind work they get?

or is the system to be blamed? why is it so rigid? why is it that no suggestions can ever go up the hierarchy? why does it have to be the way they like it every single time? why cant suggestions be treated as suggestions? or rather why cant there be suggestions?

why is what it where, why and what boil down into?

a why? which is bigger than the question mark next to it.
