Re: Life @ TAPMI..... - 21-07-2009, 11:11 AM

After having a power packed weekend with Freshers being treated with a party at the best venue in the city and a sunday special interaction on Retail Banking by Mr Subhadip Barman.
The week seems to be a warm up for the upcoming MIP presentaions and submissions. With executive Summary deadline yesterday, the clock has started to click towards the final presentation and submission.
Having spent 2 months learning the corporates way its time to finally make it a knowledge sharing for the whole batch too !! Lots of experiences will pour in in the next weeks!!

Looking forward to complete my report in time

Another really hectic week and an insane week coming up [Yes...What is New ?]
ChoreoCom - The Choreography Committee, TAPMI did its bit by getting students of both batches to shake a leg (and a little more !) to the moves of the Salsa Workshop instructors.

A one hour session of basic salsa moves (or for people like me the lack of it) ensured all present (including faculty) had an entertaining time. The workshop ended with the instructors putting on a mesmerising performance followed up with our very own ChoreCom Jivers !

And you thought TAPMI was only about the academic rigor ?

Another week goes by in a flash. I now realise I am finally getting used to the pace as days literally fly by. Had three quiz in the week, did decently well in all. Average sleeping time has gone down to 2.30 am.
Having tons of student body meets.....awesome fun! The hours literally vanish into thin air during the day and evenings evaporate in group activities and meetings.
Oh and before I forget, we have two prestigious alumni coming to campus today to witness a business quiz between the senies and us. Yours truly has the honor of being one of the participants. Pray for me guys, though it'll be a tuff battle.
Also have an upcoming soccor match between the senies and our team. Gotta go into Ronaldo-mode. woohoooo...here I come FIFA......

TAPMI has been at the centre of hectic activity this week with MIP (Summer) Project Presentations being made to the Faculty panel. However life goes on :

1. Mr Arun Arumugham, National Business Manager(OEM) - Intel India and Mr. Joe Abraham, Entrepreneur (Both Alumni of 1997 batch) visted TAPMI last week to interact with students. The interaction covered Sales and Distribution in the Media & Entertainment Industry, IT industry and the Banking and Financial Services industry.
The speakers gave insights to students based on their experience in various organizations.

2. Choreography Committe (ChoreCom) is all set to be inducted into TAPMI through (what I am sure is going to be) a hip-shaking (?) performance.
The venue continues to the be the Open Air Stage next to TAPMI Greens !

Re: Life @ TAPMI..... - 30-07-2009, 02:19 AM

The musicCom induction last week was pretty much like a open air party. With the weather on our side, the junies made sure that we had lot of fun and showed us their musical side!

The ChoreoCom induction today is a thing that the batch is looking forward to...let the induction show their dancing side too ( though we had a pretty good view of it in the Formal batch induction and freshers party )

With MIP presentations goig on for the senies, the week seems to b running fast and with reports pending after that, it still seems to me that iam working with the company...beyond 2 months there!
And to add to all this here comes the "students community" favorite -- Mid term exam!!

Lots cooking...
Cheers

Hello people,

one more hectic week & im back .....

Week was as usual a blur of lectures, quizzes and presentations . The evenings were equally busy (but way more fun) thanks to some amazing parties thrown by the senies for us.
One thing is for sure at TAPMI - We work hard and we party harder
Have been having a lot of inter-group competitions for various events. Havnt really creamed the competition so to say .

Coming to the highlight of the week, Episode 09 was kicked off today by the senies. This means one week of unadulterated masti and a superhuman workload. And to think of it, we are staring at mid-terms right in the face.
The opening ceremony was awesome and all credit goes to PGP-2.
All of us have been allotted to the 5 teams and personally I am gonna put in all my effort to make sure the Cinesters claim the crown !

I think I really wont have enough time to keep u guys updated in the week. So cya after Episode! May Glory be ours !

Re: Life @ TAPMI..... - 11-08-2009, 11:13 PM

before I start, lemme catch my breath...phew !

Ok, Episode 09 came, blew everything in its way and conquered us all

Since my last post, I have been through debates, poetry writing, script writing, acting, dancing, non-stop blabbering, cross-dressing, singing, blogging and dressing up as Lord Shiva for a ramp-walk. And trust me the list does not contain a few events which I dint participate in.

The spirit and morale during Episode has to be seen and felt to be believed.....I literally mean it......You can smell adrenaline and zeal in the air, every single evening. From coming up with team promos to planning and strategizing for the day's events.....time really does act as a constraint. You actually feel that 24 hours in a day arnt enuff...........

To add to the spice, our senies had their mid-theme exams goin on parallel to Episode....God alone knows what they've written on those answer sheets after spending every evening toiling with us in various events. Pure and unadulterated talent flowed on stage everyday.

Classmates during the day and competitors in the evning was the mantra......each of the five teams gave it their all. Battle lines were clearly drawn, but Mind You, not across the hearts. Despite the competition, everyone cheered for everyone else. Countless days of sleep-deprivation finally paid off on the spectacular Valedectory function.

As Episode 09 drew to a close, everything the senies had told us bout it finally rang true. It is something which does remain with you forever.
We ladies and gentlemen are finally a part of the TAPMI culture !

And wth this realization comes another one of me having my mid-theme exams starting tomorrow. So wish me luck guys! God knows I need it....

In continuation to the plethora of industry visits, TAPMI was proud to host Mr. Mahalingam, Executive Vice President and Global Chief People Officer, Symphony Systems.

He interacted with students of PGP II in area of Talent management - Best and Next practices of HR.

Despite the guest lecture being scheduled after completion of almost 4 compulsary lectures that day, the audience was all charged up to ensure a highly successful session.

The schedule for the PGP II students just got revamped - 7 days a week working for this year (YES SUNDAY ALSO WORKING !! ), an average of 4 sessions (of 70 minutes each) per day.

Ladies and Gentleman welcome to 'Academic Rigor' at its very best.
