Hi All
I am an MBA student at IBS Gurgaon 2008-2010 batch. I'll give you all an unprejudiced feedback about my institute.. Both the +ves and -ves:
# IBS-G Student intake is good, students have very good communication and presentation skills, besides good academic record. Students come from top notch DU colleges and engg. colleges, some by choice and others becoz they didn't clear Cat.
# 70% of the faculty is good. Rest are not.
# The campus has all the basic facilities like wifi internet, AC reading rooms, a good stocked library. However, the timings are from 10 to 5 and entry to campus is prohibited after that. It's usually dead after 5 pm. Classrooms are very good but they are locked just when classes get over.
# Recreational facilities are missing, there is no Gym or any other sports facility at all.
# Canteen is good, good food and drinks at a low cost, but it's too small to accomodate 1200+ people, it's just enough to have 100 people or less, so the mess is messy during lunch time
# Student Cell ie. the team to assist students is usually cooperative and helpful.
# SAP ie. a stipendiary assistantship program allows students to sell courses of Icfai uni and earn good stipend.
# Courseware is very good and all books are provided by the institute which also includes Case study books. These books are the same books that distance learning students get.
# There is no accomodation facility provided by the college but it has links with PG owners outside and they provide assistance is getting an outside accomodation.
# Industry interface is one thing that is more or less absent. There are no Industrial trips or any people coming from corporates and delivering lectures. It's a rarity.
# The level of classes is exceptionally good, a good amount of discussion in the classes and a lot of student involvement due to discussion based assignments.
# Besides the reading rooms(2) and the library, there are no places to sit and discuss, so students usually sit on floors and stairs and discuss.
# The annual fest held every year is a very unique 3-day event which is quite similar to events in DU colleges.
# The fees is too much for the course. It's 8.5 Lacs. Those who take loans should consider ROI criteria.
# There is a good amount of parking space for both cars and 2 wheelers.
# There is no dress code. Students usually wear formals during presentations and seminars.
# Students have formed a number of activity groups for different functional areas.
# The Palam Vihar area is good, we ahve Ansal Plaza mall having a multiplex just adjacent to the college building

The locality is not too good for girls. Most of my friends have been gawked at or misbehaved with, in some way or the other. However, PGs have their own security, so there's no trouble inside.
I guess that will be it. Post more queries here for specific things
