Life @ SJMSOM, IIT Bombay

Well the last set of exams for the '08 batch have got over . Project submissions/vivas left for a few like me . Yeah, the feel is not sinking at all, in fact I'm not thinking at all about this...what..!!? Its about to get over man..can ya believe it....nopes I can't.
Thanks to IITB hostel generous rules, we'll stay here till June-end. The Mumbai joinees at least will converge again in a couple of weeks time. But tab taoh woh naukri chaalu ho jaayegi yaar..kahaan woh time milega..kahaan woh time rahegaa.....
Its the love of the whole system (the IIT system: infra, hostel, campus, canteens, terraces) which is damn overwhelming and its very hard to imagine life without all this. Thank God I have 2 months more to stay in the hostel. ...yeh silsilaa abhi khatam nahin hua hai mere dost !!

It's pack up time for me. Left the campus with a heavy heart. I wish I could have stayed in the protective confines of the campus for so many more years.. But the big bad world is waiting to devour me. So here I come with all the fighting spirit that SJMSOM has taught me!

Aur haan ... hw do i get this SJMSOM (institute name) displayed in my name .. like u folks have ..

Posting experiences for '08 batch would be difficult buddy so writing in short my experience. I summered (if there's such a word ) at KEC International (an RPG Group company) in their Finance department in the Corporate Finance Role.

It was a great learning experience with regard to knowledge and jargon too (as I was surrounded by all CAs ..capex opex etc ) . Got a PPO in the role of Manager-Finance but didn't accept as I wanted to move into financial services sector per se.

That institute name along with the username: You have to contact the section moderator providing him with your institute mail id. In short, it will be done after you join here.

Zeus was founded in August 2004, and it specialises in computational
fluid dynamics (CFD) tools and services. It has a global customer base

automobiles, missiles/rockets, nuclear reactors and buildings,
electric fans & motors etc. The company owns a proprietary platform
and series of intellectual property in this domain. According to a
release issued by the company, Zeus Numerix had been profitable since
its inception, and had risen from a revenue base of Rs 20 lakh in
2004-05 to Rs 2 crore in 2007-08.
The company was the brainchild of Prof. Gopal R. Shevare, who is a
Director (Technology) and Professor of Aerospace at IITB. The chief
architect behind technology integration and its commercialisation is
Dr. S. Banerjee, who is the Chairman of Zeus Numerix. He is a former
director of SAIL and National Metallurgical Lab, and an expert on
Innovation Management at School of Management, IITB
The company has delivered solutions to a variety of customers such as
the Government of India defense and nuclear establishments (ARDE,
DRDL, BARC, IGCAR etc), Larson & Toubro, Usha Fans, Mahindra &
Mahindra, International Technology Cooperation Center (S. Kroea),
EADS(Airbus) (France), and others.

Yahoo !! I am back on PG and this time I am a SOMbody.
The orientation and hostel allocation left me bugged up initially but I am getting accustomed to things slowly. The seniors of SOM'09 batch have been really helpful ... not to mention the ice breaking activity (which also helped me discover the masseur within me!!). Though we still havent come to grips with all the things on campus and classes are yet to begin (ohh shucks!!!)
I think we'll b havin a gr8 time here....

guys sry for posting so late...really so much has happened in here for the last few days that i really donot know where to start from..rt from last thursday when people started pouring in campus .. oh man it has been a very very busy week....wat didnt we hav...ice breaker sessions with the seniors in tow..(who i must say have been the most helpful and innovative ...)presentations which gave us an idea of wat to expect in the next 2 yrs to come..skits ,video presenatations et al..and yes parasuram is indeed a good masseur ..we all have come to know about it ...anyway will be keeping u all updated with all the latest activities on campus..have to run now ..have an interview coming up today evening with the seniors as well as a formal interaction party with the faculty...

And finally they begin... bole to...classes. after 2 years of slogging it out in the offices its really difficult to sit out a lecture that too for 2 hours.
But its fun, gettin to learn new things, acknowledge the fact that some ppl in our batch have a lot more understandings of the topic being talked about
and to find our feet amongst this knowledgable crowd. and yes, its finally sinkin in.. the feel of an IIT campus, both in its enormity and its vibrance.
our first real interaction with seniors has started... dekhte hain kaun kisse pahle pakta hai.
